Tesla Political factors

POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT: There are political factors that Tesla has to deal with in certain parts of the world most particularly in the United States. These factors include potential change in government with corresponding changes to policies and initiatives. Tesla operates in major continents like North America, Asia, Europe and Australia (Tesla). In these countries there are environmental protection laws to induce production of more environmental cars to meet strict emission levels due to the high rate of car pollution and its effect on Climate change. These are laws against environmental noise and air quality in which Tesla’s Cars have all the right attribute and governments of these countries are welcoming alternative sources. (Environmental protection.org.uk). The Obama Administration has taken aggressive steps to reduce dependence on foreign oil and significant investment in biofuels. A series of initiatives announced recently builds on that commitment, and on significant investments in vehicle technology, to-date. In an address President Obama and Vice Joe Biden have both come out boldly to speak about their goal of making the United States the first country in the world to put one million advanced technology vehicles on the road by 2015. Their Administration’s plan on achieving this goal will include supporting electric vehicle manufacturing and adoption in the U.S. through generous new consumer rebates, more investments in R & D, and a new competitive program to encourage communities to invest in electric vehicle infrastructure by rewarding them (Office of the Vice President). Both are very good political factors in favour of Tesla’s initiatives.
