It was just going to be a simple scavenge at an abandoned military base. It seemed safe enough. There was a pack of old bandages in one of the crates, however, most of them were already rotten. Heading towards the 5-ton, the gorgeous M939 U.S. Army truck, he rummaged under the hood for a good battery back in its day it was probably used to carry personnel and supplies to destinations all across this land. Now it lies rusting, quietly whispering war stories in its carcass, waiting for someone to listen.…

The Marble made statue known as the Kritios Boy is a champion among the most basic statues ever. At no other time had a stone specialist been stressed over portraying how a man really stands. The Dying Gauls on the holy place of Zeus, pergamene craftsmen, showed the triumph of Attalos I over the Gauls in whimsical veil. An earlier Pergamene statuary gathering unequivocally outlined the demolition of the savages. Roman copies of some of these figures reveal that Hellenistic specialists completely considered and imitated the specific features of the remote Gauls, most strikingly their long, Bushy hair and mustaches and the torques they as frequently as conceivable wore.…

One of the main conflicts of October Sky is Homer and his friends learning how to build and work rockets. At school, Homer confronts Quentin, the geek of the school. Homer tells him about his idea for rockets. After the conversation, Homer, his two friends, and Quentin begin their adventure. They figured out the basics of rocket building through books and Quentin. Homer and his friend encounter many problems. They have problems with the nozzle and the chemicals. Their first rocket was called the AUC I and, of course, it wasn’t a success. They nearly exploded the mines, but their first try wasn’t going to be perfect. Neither was the second, or third, or fourth. After all of their failing, they talk to a mine worker about. Leon Bolden, an African American shop worker, offers to order it nozzle to make it a success. The nozzle isn’t cheap to order though. The Rocket Boys talk a part of the railroad tracks and sell it for quick money. Homer and his friends encounter many exploding rockets before they can build the perfect one. They test out many chemicals before they figure out 100% alcohol is all they needed for the perfect rocket.…

    October Sky Response

The story told in Joe Johnson's film October Sky (1999) is a beautiful one and a true one. I was really enthusiastic to watch this movie, because I love to watch movies based on true stories. I find they teach us many lesson through their experiences. The four teenage boys Homer Hickam, Quentin Wilson, Roy Lee Cooke, and Sherman O'Dell are very devoted to fulfill their dream of rocketry. The boys are first inspired by the Sputnik 1, the first satellite launched into the earth's orbit. But everyone in the town of Coalwood is destined to become coal-miners, unless they are lucky enough to get a football scholarship. To everyone coal-mining was Homer's only future, just like his father. Homer and his friends fearlessly begin learning how to build rockets and testing them. The whole town is not behind them and believe they're wasting their time, especially Homer's father John Hickam. The only one who strongly supports them is their teacher, Miss. Riley. She tells them that they can contend in The National Science Fair. The prize being college scholarships. By examining their experience you learn a lot about striving to achieve a goal, no matter what the odds.…
