There are slight changes related in returning to school from the role of LPN to RN. First I must focus my time in my school work whether it is studying, reading or just not working 80 hours a week to allow the brain to retain in my long term memory. I currently work in two different fields of nursing. One is mental health which I find personally rewarding because of hands on care I’ve learned to realize who I am and why I am who I am. The other is long term nursing care which has given me respect for the elderly and those who cannot care for themselves. The switch to the RN role I personally anticipate more involvement in the care planning and more respect from health professionals.…

With the diploma, ADN, and BSN avenues to becoming a registered nurse there are many different options for those desiring to enter the nursing field. However, there are many barriers as well including cost, availability and location of nursing schools (IOM, 2011, p. 166). With the recommendations for nursing detailed in the IOM report many changes will need to be implemented in the education of nurses and also to ease the transition of the graduate nurse into practice (IOM, 2011). With an increased number of patients entering a health care system that is already exhibiting a shortage of nurses and physicians in many areas of the country it will be necessary for nurses to expand their practice and encompass more tasks and skills to provide the needed high…

I am also have negative stigma with people who are treated as psychiatric patient and I never be close with them. This semester, I had opportunity to visit at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Perak for one day on 20 March 2014. The questions '' what differentiates the practice of psychiatric nurses in Hospital Bahagia and in the hospital setting'' and ''what differentiates patient treated in Hospital Bahagia and patient treated in ward'' was high on my agenda of questions to explore. As this is my first time went to the Hospital Bahagia which is known as a place for crazy, mental problem and psycho person, I was really excited. When I arrived there, the place was really big and beautiful. I was wonder either this is a campus or mental's hospital. I can saw a lots of guards with brown uniform anywhere. Some of them ride motorcycle and some of them walked in and outside the ward. There are a guards for each entrance doors. A lots of nurses with white uniform walked everywhere and sometimes I can heard people yelling and crying. At the beginning of the session, we are given talk about the history of the place by one of the sister there. I was totally shocked when I heard the staff there are more than 10 000 and the hospital's area was really big. The hospital already exist 100 years back. I am sure this…
