God sent Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh to ask for the release of His people so that they could worship Him freely. At first Pharaoh rejected and Moses showed God’s power by turning Aaron’s rod into a snake. The sorcerers of Egypt additionally presented their powers by altering their canes into snakes. Conversely, Aaron’s snake ate the snakes of the Egyptians. 8 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 9 When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. 10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. (Exodus 7:8-12). God wanted to let Pharaoh know that He is the only true and real God and He used Moses and Aaron as instruments to enforce His will.
According to an article in “The Telegraph” expert have re-though their opinions on the Biblical plagues. Many of them base their statements on findings that have been happening over the last 20 years. The scientists claim the plagues can be attributed to a chain of natural phenomena triggered by changes in the climate and environmental disasters that happened hundreds of miles away." In the article it states that God told Moses to tell Pharaoh to "let my people go that they may serve me", this belief is demonstrate throughout. Service to the Lord is the commitment of His people, and the blessing for this show of obedience and sacrifice is the ultimate salvation not only from physical. The first plague that was put in place, the Egyptians from God was that of turning the water to blood.
