“While most teens are not even thinking about getting married when they are in high school, there are some teens who believe that they have found their soul mate and plan to get married at a young age. Teen marriage is fading away from society. It is no longer considered status quo to get married in your teen years and it is, in fact, usually frowned upon in today’s society. Teenagers marry for many reasons, some of these reasons are bad, and others are good motives. Some reasons are not acceptable reasons to marry. Such as wanting to be free from your parents, to have sex, to show you are an adult, because you or your fiancé is pregnant or want to have a baby, out of fear that no one else will want to marry you, you think you are running out of time to get married, you don't want people gossiping about the two of you living together. Some good reasons to get married in your teen years are you are truly in love with your fiancé, a desire to share your life with another, to have a lifetime companion whom will support you, and willingness to help your fiancé fulfill their own needs and dreams.
Teen marriage is the union of two adolescents, joined in marriage from the age of fourteen to nineteen years old. Until the late 20th century, teen marriage was very common. Many factors contribute to teenagers wanting to marry, such as teen pregnancy, religion, security, family and peer pressure, arranged marriage, economic and political reasons, social advancement, and cultural reasons.
