Not too long ago, each day was filled with heavy, time consuming responsibilities that left little time for even completing these tasks. People generally worked from their homes or within walking distance to their homes and rarely travelled far from them. People were limited to whatever their physical capabilities were. Modern technology has improved our lives through convenience, efficiency and accessibility.
Our lives have improved through convenience provided by modern technology. In the past people had no electricity, people had to make use of candles in order to have lights in their homes. There were no cellphones, cars, washing machines and dish washers. In a home there are number of inventions that make life easier in this age and time, you can now use a remote controller to control your television, you can soften the lights in a way that will suite you when you are in the house, there is wall or ceiling heater that can adjust it temperature according to the climate. The time saved by using the washing machines, and cell phones in communicating with friends and family in long distance without having to use telegrams and writing letters has also brought efficiency in people’s lives. Nowadays people have time and energy than ever to enjoy their lives and easily pursue their goals due to the efficiency of modern technology. Accessibility to a wide range of options has been improved through modern technology. Another perspective on technical advancement can be viewed in organisation’s use of e-commerce in business transactions as daily operations. These involve electronics systems in which high technical devises are used in conducting business and as a medium for communication. A typical example would be telecommuting through video conferencing which uses certain kind of projectors of for communication in meetings between various organizations that are distanced from one another.
