How many times does the average person check their phone in a day? According to Joanna Stern of ABC news people check their phones 150 times a day. Yes a phone along with other forms of technology gives people the freedom to communicate in just seconds, allows people to carry their favorite games and the internet wherever they go, but people have become too dependent on technology. Social networks, cell phones, tablets, and video game systems have become a necessity in people lives, resulting in the disruption of education, developing developmental skills and health. Although technology has advanced the world, it still negatively affects the lives of many. Technology has become a negative problem in the lives of many people due to it effect on education, developmental, and health.

However he never specified whether it would change the world for the better or not. So which one is it? Education has been the key to creating and improving technology. Only to have that technology sabotage students education. Teachers are allowed to use technology to teach students, but should they be allowed to? Technology in the classroom allows teachers a more up-to-date, easier way to teach for those who know how to use it. However technology in the classroom also “takes away valuable learning time, it can be overused, and it can also turn educational experiences into games for students” (Kalaus, Julia “Negative Effects”). Kalaus goes on to explain that in schools located in impoverished areas may have students without computers or internet access at home and need to be taught how to use

There is no doubt that in the era of globalization, smartphones have become one of the most popular technology devices of our lives and have changed the way we communicate. However, after watching a YouTube video called “I Forgot My Phone”, Nick Bilton, an editor for the New York Times, states that “life is just better led when it is lived rather than viewed [on smartphones].” I agree with Bilton that when we put away our phones and try to live in the present for a while, we will feel more connected to the world. Moreover, spending more time on phones will not improve our relationships with others, but make people socially isolated.…

Technology is controlling and changing our everyday lives. I strongly believe Gary Shteyngart in his article “Only Connect”; not only is the I-phone changing everybody lives, but any other smart phone that exists in today’s society. Shteyngart says “With each passing year, scientists estimate that I lose between 6 and 8 percent of my humanity, so that by the close of this decade you will be able to quantify my personality.” He is correct because every year technology changes and advance. Each year people personality decrease in how they act in their everyday life. Smart phones have everything you can possibly imagine. Society is becoming too comfortable and lazy because they have all the answer they need rite at the palm of their hands. Smart phones have become very addicting to the point that people are not realizing the damage it’s doing to them self.…

Completing this research paper on two careers, a forensic practitioner and baker has changed my plans dramatically. After researching the career as a baker I now know that that is not a job that I would want to pursue. As a baker I don’t feel like I am making much of a difference, baking a cake or bread will not save someone’s life. I want to make a difference in life and help people. Becoming a forensic practitioner I can do that. I found more excitement in researching that career. When I think about choosing a career, I feel it must be something that I could see myself doing and enjoying for the rest of my life. Working in a lab and seeing crime scenes amazes me! I learned a lot of things about both careers. A baker takes his/her time to create products to perfection. They work long hours and have great career advantages. A forensic practitioner works mainly in a lab, sometimes alongside police officers. All of the expectations that I had for this project were fully met. I was pleased to have the opportunity to research both careers, now I know what career fits me and which one doesn’t.…

In the United States wild fires are very common during the dry season also known as summer. Although they are occurring all over the united states I would like to bring your attention to the following states, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and also Idaho. In the past few fire seasons these states have had an increase in the number of fires that have been started due to natural storms and human related accidents. They are becoming more frequent due to the current conditions of the forests and lack of up keep on the vegetation. Along with the growing frequency of these fires the intensity level of the fires are also increasing as a result of the over populated forest. With the ever increasing fire intensity the forest firefighters are in more danger now than ever. To what extent should people begin to be concerned about the growing forest fire problem? People should become concerned when the problem is continuing to escalate and becoming a growing problem. This growing problems is beginning to effect myself first hand due to where I live also with my family members who are in the wildfire fighting field. My oldest brother Chris works for Boise Dispatch, My brother Hoby is on an engine crew in McCall Idaho, My youngest brother works for Pat- Rick fire crew out of Boise Idaho, and lastly my father Dale works for Thunder Mountain Catering. They cater to the firefighters stationed on the larger fires so that they don't have to eat MRE's (Dehydrated meals ready to eat). Also during the fire season the air is thick with a gray haze covering the Treasure valley. This often happens when there are numerous fires burning around the area. Due to the current conditions of the forests these fires are becoming more frequent and also more intense.…

According to Nelson Mandela, education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Education is a backbone to develop social and economic development of a country. There are two main arguments about college tuition should be free or not. Some argue college education should be free because they believe the lack of money should not be the reason not to go to college. The other group claims college tuition should not be free because students should pay for the education they received it. Community college should be free for economic and social development.…

My Name is Brittany Larkin and for my senior project I have chosen to do How Music Impacts Drugs on My Community. My motivation for this project is that today’s society has changed over the years, and more and more I see not only some of my fellow classmates, and my friends, but my family members’ usage of drugs impact over the years. One day I’m walking home from school and a group of young boys about my little brothers age so I say about 11-12 years old smoking and rapping “ I said wait hold up please let me roll up” and thinking to myself did that music make them want to smoke drugs or was it the drugs that decided the type of music they listened to. More and more new songs about drugs have come out come out for example the molly dance, and I myself have noticed ever since the song has been released more and more people find it fascinating to want to do a “Molly” because it seemed cool and the rappers. People they look up to have tried it or claimed they tried it. I think it’s not just rap music though that impacts drugs; I think every genre has a different impact on drugs. That’s another reason why I chose this particular project to see if it’s just rap music, and if indeed it is I want to know what are the different solutions we can take to change this. Maybe less drugs and more successful things in music like staying in…

Words rather than weapons move people all over the world today. Nelson Mandela has spoken out against weapons, and his speeches changed numerous lives of people living in racially divided countries. On History.com, Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Mandela’s actions of speaking out may have sent him to jail, having said that, Oliver Tambo a friend, held a campaign “Free Nelson Mandela” outside the jail that was cogent. The power of words pushed the government to offer Mandela’s freedom in 1980. Therefore, this proves that words hold more power than weapons.…

According to the Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon through which we can change the world” and I have full faith on this because we have seen many persons whose lives changed because of education and one such as person was ‘Dr. Bhem Rao Ambekar’. He was the chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee of India. He earned 16 degrees and did his Doctorate Degrees in Economics from Columbia University as well as London School of Economics. He has been a great motivation and inspiration and a role model in my life that learning is an endless process and it depends upon the person that how much knowledge one wants to acquire in life.
