Paper entitled: Technology in Teaching and Learning in the Republic of Yemen

Abstract
The advantages of Technology Learning for Yemeni Education are important aspect that will help Yemeni students ' progress to the future by giving them a chance to overcome the skills necessary to flourish in the 21st century. This paper offers a replicable model for leveraging the power and pull of technology, not just to teach computer and internet skills, but to improve core teaching and learning in Yemeni high schools, particularly in the essential areas of math and science. The overarching goal of Technology is to improve acquisition of 21st century skills by Yemeni high school students, so that they are better equipped to find work, live productive lives and contribute to Yemen 's development as a stable and prosperous democracy. It also contributes to society development by providing training, advisory, and research services and the continuing education programs through competent administrative and academic staff. The advantages of Technology help the students to acquire wide information and to know the world around them; this will lead to create skillful generation aware of the challenges of the day.
Nowadays, the significance of information technology in educational sector is well known. This paper shows the advantages of technology learning to help the students as well as the teachers in studying the course material easily because of fast access. Studying the subjects with the help of online libraries and dictionaries has made grasping and increasing the knowledge easy for the students. The inclusion of information technology in the syllabus in schools, colleges and universities has helped them in grasping the subject well and getting their basics cleared. Since, many educational centers have the online grading system; it has been a boon for the parents of the children to keep a tab on their performances. Parents can also get the

    One of the most important components of successful science teaching is the use of effective questioning (Clough, 2007). Abraham and Schlitt (1973) argue that, “Teaching requires continuous analysis of both student and teacher behaviors and subsequent modificationof classroom performance.” They also say teachers must be their own critics if continuous analysis is to occur (Abraham & Schlitt, 1973). The topic that I chose to focus on analyzing are the interactions, such as questioning and responding, that take place between teachers and their students. Given the topic, this final video analysis project will focus on answering the question, “What types of interactions are taking place in the classroom?” One way to improve teacher interactions and behaviors is through deep reflection on one’s own practice through action research (Capobianco et al. 2004). I chose to research this topic because it is important for me to better understand whether I am effectively asking questions that guide students to the desired outcomes or merely lecturing. Through this research, I hope to discover who is doing most of the talking in the classroom and whether I am doing most of the thinking for them or if I am pushing them to think more deeply about the subject so that they can make their own connections. I also want to see what types of questions I am asking my students and whether the majority of them are simple answer questions or if they require my students to think critically and make connections to prior knowledge before answering a question I have posed. Finally, I would like to know whether, after asking a question, I give my students enough time to think about their answers and whether I give them the answer directly or if I help my students to find their own answers.
