Everyday, the average teenager spends over eight hours looking at a screen. Now, one may say that's completely insane, but others may beg to differ. In some ways, looking at a screen may not be all that bad. Looking at a screen doesn't just mean watching tv or playing video games. For example, in Southampton High School, most students will be looking at a screen almost all day long, because their district supplies them with iPads. There shouldn't be any games on them, they are mainly used for educational purposes. Kids are connected to the internet this way. The way technology is evolving using the internet on their iPads is part of their everyday routine. They will be a lot more educated than kids growing up without internet because they will have been connected to a lot more information and resources through the web. Kids without internet could be affected later on in life when they are applying for colleges, or looking for jobs. They will not be up to date with how our world is using the internet and that will be a problem for them in the future.…

Q1) Computer chips are inputs in the production of computers. Because of the decreasing costs of inputs, the supply of computers increases. This relates to the law of supply where there is a direct relationship between the price and quantity supplied, ceteris paribus. The market supply curve is the horizontal summation of individual supply curves. Therefore there would be a rightward shift in the supply curve for computers from S to S1, resulting in higher quantity, lower price of computers and forming a new equilibrium point from E to E1.…

When I was a young girl you had to be at home to receive a phone call, have a set of encyclopaedias to do your homework, post letters and wait days for a reply, take your video camera or camera out with you to be able to capture special moments and have your Walkman and cassettes with you to listen to music. It’s almost unbelievable to think that now in 2012 we have a device in our pockets that will allow us to make and receive calls, texts and emails, take videos and pictures and do many other things. With the changes in modern technology over the years we now really do seem to have the world at our finger tips, the internet can give us almost any information we want in seconds, we can buy almost anything over the net, we can get free music and films, find jobs, places to live and we can keep in contact with friends and family or even meet new people. A recent EU study shows that there are a growing number of Irish adults who use just a mobile phone. The numbers who use just mobile handsets is 35% up 7% since a study at the end of 2009. The number of Irish households with a computer has jumped 5% in just over a year to 69%, while 66% have internet access up 4% since a study at the end of 2009. The survey showed that 58% of Irish households have access to broadband an increase of 4% over the same previous survey. So this tells us that more and more people are coming into the world of technology. It makes me wonder though, what effects does all this have on society? Is all this new technology a good thing or does it have its bad points? Was life easier when an Apple and a Blackberry were just fruits? Seeing as the number of people using mobile phones and the internet is growing it is clear that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages for people, but the reality is most of us don’t really know enough about where the information we are sending and posting goes and what effects using them has on our health.…

Today our world has known a huge transformation in modern technologies as it is surrounded by us mostly everywhere today and everyday it’s getting developed. Technology has a great impact and influence on people these days and of course without today’s technologies it would be difficult to get things done. Although modern technology is very useful and it helps us a lot and makes our life easier, and like everything else it also has advantages and disadvantages. No one can object that technology is one of the best things man has created, so technology in general has made life simpler and keeps people in touch even though they are thousands of miles away from each of other. So usually people are very dependent on today’s technologies like internet and cell phones and those two are two of the most important features that are impossible to get rid of. But, people should start to think of our technologies in a better way because it is being used by lots of people in a negative way and this will lead us to a disaster in which we will never know how to stop it and it looks like from now it’s hard to begin to change people’s thought. So what I am going to discuss in this essay is to proof that technology is leading us to dead end if we didn’t change our thoughts of it. First of all, the conflict between technology and thinking, then technology and its effects on children and youth, technology’s effect to our environment and increasing pollution, the relation between modern technology and increasing obesity and the effects of technology on society. So, although the benefits of technology are evident, we should take its negative effects more seriously. Technology and computers have shaped our world in many ways, today with our huge technological revolution many people depend on modern technologies, for example, computers, internet and calculators. There is…
