Tech World
We live in a technologically advanced world. Wherever we look, we will see people holding what ever technological gadget they own. Professionals and students use their laptops for typing down documents, children use their tablets for playing games, and teenagers use their smart phones to send each other text messages and voice notes. With the rapid expansion of technology, the spread of information has been easier and everyday activities are made simpler.

New gadgets come out almost every year with new features. A good example of this would be a cell phone. Back then, phones were not portable. They used to just be at home, or stationed in different places. Then people came up with the first cell phone, which was really big and needed a bag of its own for it to be carried around. As time passed, cellphones became a lot smaller, therefore making it easy for people to bring it with them wherever they go. As if that wasn't enough, cellphones got thinner too. And now, cellphones are more than just phones. Smart phones nowadays are all-in-one gadgets, with high-definition cameras, applications for different purposes, internet capabilities, and much more. Phones aren't just used for calling and texting anymore. The same could be said about computers, which used to take up whole rooms and could now fit into one's bag. The use of technology has definitely expanded and has opened a lot of different opportunities for us.

With all these advancements in technology, information can easily be obtained in a matter of seconds. Long gone are the days when people would have to go to libraries and look for different books for research work. Nowadays, all it takes is going on the internet, typing down a few keywords on a search engine, press enter, and filter the results. Newspapers and magazines are accessible on tablets and computers, and even novels are being turned digital and can be accessed the same way. Stories between friends, and lectures can be shared online on social networking sites and messenger applications.

Everyday activities have definitely been made easier. With the use of our gadgets, we can talk to our friends and loved ones wherever we may be as long as we have internet connection. People can do research in the comfort of their homes, sitting down on their couches or lying down on their beds. Even watching television has been made easier - people can simply download or watch their favorite shows online, without interruptions, on their laptops or tablets wherever they may be. Taking pictures and having hard copies of them take almost no effort as digital cameras have made it easy by simply accessing photos on the computer and printing them out.

The world is definitely changing. We, the people, discover more and more about the things around us, and we find ways to make them work for our benefit, and make our lives easier. As we do this, we also change what goes on around us - our surroundings, our environment. It is good that we use our mind to its full potential, but in making things easy for us, we might lose sight of the importance of hard work and effort. It does seem ironic, how human beings spend so much time and effort to make things easier for us. Despite all these developments, people should not forget the value of simplicity, and doing things "old school". Writing with a pen and paper can teach us things that typing words on our laptops can not. Video calls cannot substitute for meeting with a person and spending time with them in person. We must not only be fluent in technology, but also in ways that do not require the use of a gadget.

Technology has paved the way to a new and exciting life. Since technology has become such a major part of our modern day lives, there is much speculation on how fast we are actually accruing new technologies. According to Moore 's Law, we double our technology every two years. This number has actually been updated to 18 months recently, and we can only expect that new to become smaller and smaller. (Greene, para. 1-6, 2011) In other words, we are learning more than ever! Out with the old, and in with the new. In many cases, technology moving forward makes for 'smaller ' phones and computers, features go up, and our technological tools in the world become more involved. This is especially true in the world of business. Technology helps businesses to better reach their customers, organize records, and to establish an online presence. (Swanson, para. 5-11, 2012)…

Over the past few years technology has changed and had significant impact on the way we live. Almost everyone has a smart phone, regardless of age or social status. We text and email instead of talk, because it faster and convenient. We can rent movies with a click of the button and stream it to our device or home. Everything is based on internet and although prices aren’t cheap, everyone can afford something that suits their budget. I have also noticed that our textbook uses bar scan, assuming that everyone has a smart phone to retrieve it. Tablets, which are like mini computers, absolutely took over the market. Even small children know how to operate them. They are easy to use, convenient and have all the things needed in one place. You are able to connect to people from all over the world in seconds. Not only you can hear them, but you can also see them. Things that seemed to be impossible a few years back now are only one click of a button away. The cars are equipped in road maps and phone systems, so it makes our driving more safe and helpful. We probably think it can’t get any better, but we are almost guaranteed to be introduced to a new phenomenon at least once every few months.…
