The Educators of the articles have different points of view on teaching spelling and grammar to our future students. They have their own thoughts on why our new generation does not need spelling and grammar, because of the new technology. They also have their own thoughts on why it is important to teach spelling and grammar even with the new technology that is available today. Both of the articles were quite interesting to read; having an open mind on why they believe what they wrote was a good way in understanding the educator’s point of views in the articles.

It is vital for student’s success to learn spelling and grammar regardless of new technology. Many students do not have the technology to depend themselves in making corrections for them. They must learn how to use it properly too, because many young students can write a wrong word and go to spell check and pick a word that has a different meaning than what they are writing. Like in the article, they can also Google search and image with the wrong word and it could be inappropriate. It can also take them twice as long to correct a paper if they did not know how to spell and use grammar correctly. These are many examples on why students should be taught spelling and grammar. There was a poll taken in one of the articles asking if schools should stop providing lessons in grammar and spelling, 96.6% of people said no and 3.4% said yes. I am glad to hear that our world still believes that spelling and grammar is important in our lives. People understand the importance that it has in school and in our future unlike Sugata Mitra. Reading both of the theses articles has just made my opinion even stronger about teaching spelling and grammar regardless of our new technology.
