CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
Education is essential in life since it gives people the assistances and tools they need to steer the world. Without education, individuals would not be able to recite, write, analyze or communicate; they would also not be able to accomplish jobs proficiently, accurately and carefully. Education also imparts people about the world in which they live, including evidence about past, philosophy and culture.
At its greatest basic level, education is vital because it gives people the starting point skills to survive as grownups in the world. These skills include elementary literacy and numeracy, in addition to the ability to interconnect complete tasks and work with others. Education is crucial

Primary education starts when the child extents the age of six on the first day of January of the current school year. Presently, only the six years of primary education is required while the five years of secondary education will be made enforced by 2015. The government gives unrestricted education for six years at primary level and five years at secondary level. Language learning should be more fun and enjoyable for pupils to learn. Teachers need to have effective teaching strategies in order for pupils to grasp better in learning English. It is important for a teacher to facilitate pupils’ interest towards learning the English Language. This study will benefit the pupils mainly and the English Language Teachers. If this study can show that the impact of study hours spent online can help to boost the pupils` English Language Proficiency in school, English Language teachers can apply online task for pupils in the near future. Learning English as second language is not easy when the pupils are coming from different types of background and the upbringing that is not stable to help them develop the interest in learning the language. Learning to read in English is about listening and understanding as well as working out what`s printed on the page. Through hearing a story, pupils are bare to a wide variety of words. This can support and help them build their own vocabulary and improve their understanding when they listen, which is vital as they start to read and to learn English. Even if the pupil doesn’t understand every word they will hear new sounds, words and phrases which they can then try to copy what they have heard.
