Teacher of Year Essay
First I want to tell you with whom I honor, with whom I have, learned to respect, and who deserve the outmost admirations. The teachers I am talking about work hard to do a great job, because, above all, it is a kind of responsibility so to speak towards their students and relevantly toward themselves. I have had several teachers in my years as a student both in the primary and secondary schools among which there were only few whom I felt to fit the description above, maybe most of them were good in their own way, but one cannot be sufficient in all ways or I may also have misunderstood them. However, the teacher that I chose as deserving of the “My Favorite Teacher” earned this title due to the care she showed to each of her students through her teaching, personality, and the all the fun had in her class is Ms. Fleming my writing teacher. Ms. Fleming is an open minded, caring person who seemed to love what she is doing. Ms. Fleming is more than a teacher to me; she is a person you could go to with a problem and she would try and help you find the answer. She would help you, but expected you to put the work into finding out for yourself how to do something. She always came across as someone who cared about every student as if they were her “children”. Ms. Fleming is like a book that gives you the right information that would help you on getting a six on the FCAT writing. About 95% of her student’s agree that Ms. Fleming spent each day preparing us for the FCAT writing in thirteen days. The first time I walked into the classroom I notice a flaming red headed teacher sitting down. I thought that she would be a boring, and mean teacher giving her student’s a lot of homework and essays to write. Every word that comes out of her mouth sounds like music to my brain. When it comes to teaching she doesn’t let out a lot of stress, most of the stress comes from whether or not her student’s would receive a four or higher on the FCAT writing. When I’m in class Ms. Fleming have a way of teaching her student’s on how to write a splendiferous essay. Ms. Fleming is always making her student’s laugh on how she comes up with ridiculous ideas to explain the assignment. “Take your left stars and right stars and switch them in order to create a perfect planning sheet,” said Ms. Fleming. Once we complete this task for our essay’s we can start drafting and then finish a final copy with an added taste! Ms. Fleming is no ordinary teacher like other teachers from North Miami Beach Senior High School. This is much I appreciate and amorous, benevolent person that would help me with my writing and achieving my goals to pass the FCAT writing test this year.

Teachers are like the water in a lake, and students are like the boats. The higher the water level, the higher the boat will be. When the lake decreases in depth the boats will sink lower. The analogy shows “Students float to the mark you set” (Rose 164). There are many examples of when I have floated to the mark set by my teachers throughout my education. Some were highly skilled and others were there to just give the lesson and go home at the end of the day. My experience with teachers that had no vested interest in their students was sub par. I dreaded classes with teachers that were not enthusiastic about teaching. Ms.Wennel was my Spanish teacher throughout high school. She was having family problems and her mind was pre-occupied with everything but teaching Spanish. Ms.Wennel was never available after school to help students if they were having trouble. Eventually I acquired the same mentality she had: get there, do what I had to do, and get out. The mark she set was low and that affected my mentality. On the other hand, the classes that I enjoyed and learned the most were the ones with highly motivated and skilled teachers. My sophomore English teacher just received her masters from James Madison University. Ms.Mulner came into school everyday with a smile…

In today’s society one of the most important factors in selecting a career field is rate of pay. No matter whether the profession maybe, the dollar figure must be within a range that allows the employee to maintain a substantial lifestyle. The debate of teacher pay scales has raged on for years. Many argue that the current pay scale for teachers is a scale which rewards teachers merely for seniority. They argue that the current pay scale overlooks those educators which demonstrate exceptional performance. Teacher merit pay systems have been the most popular suggestions made to remedy the problems seen with the current pay scale. Although the current pay scale may not be completely effective, the idea of teacher merit pay systems should be removed for the debate. Teacher merit pay systems fail to be effective solutions to the issues credited to teacher pay scales. Teacher merit pay systems undermine team work essential to effective education, limit the scope and effectiveness of teacher evaluations, and cripple schools abilities to create successful learning environments. Teacher merit pay systems will mean the difference between creating schools and building educational institutes.…

Memorable teachers are not the ones, who are the most pleasant to their students, but they are not the toughest ones either, they are the one that make you work for your knowledge, and you appreciate it, naturally much later in life. Mrs. Wright was very kind, compassionate, and honest no matter what the subject was or how she thought we were doing in school. She would always search for ways on how someone could improve. She has the skills to make you want to perform better, and continuously work to improve. This teacher had the passion to teach, and loved working with students, wonderful and necessary qualities to hold. She knew, and learn quickly that I have test anxiety, knew I always studied for hours on end, knew I knew the answers too, but once a test was placed before me, my mind would go blank, still does to a degree. She taught me some great testing strategies, ones that I still use day. This teacher was very inspirational, and gave you the courage to strive for success. Something I hope to match in my teaching…

Those who are bad are usually bad in a generic way- those that assign too much homework or are too strict. Rarely do children experience truly awful instructors, the kind that make students dread coming to school. When I was nine, I had one such teacher.…

and even the students who you feel are the “favorite”, they need to be treated equally as well. It will be my biggest duty aside from enriching my student’s lives to make sure no student is left out or feels like they are unimportant or are not smart enough. I have felt all of those things while in school so I know how it feels and can sympathize with them. But the main point is to show each student just how special and important they are. Also, to make sure they are using their full potential and striving to be the best student they can be. Even though it may sound cliché, these things are very important qualities for a teacher, if a teacher has these qualities it will show and it will be evident that the teacher actually cares and to me, those are always the best teachers to…

Can you imagine the amount of knowledge that is driven away by students throughout summer break? Lately, the Union City Board of Education has been considering that it may be necessary to switch from the traditional school year to having year round school in order to properly educate the students in this area. In my personal opinion, I most likely agree with the Union City Board of Education do to the following reasons. First of all, more time would be spent on teaching new material in opposed to reviewing old material because of summer loss. In addition, with a 15-day break after 45 days of instruction students are able to recover and refresh. Third of all, it eliminates the need for summer enrichment programs families may not be able to afford. Clearly, these reasons should be carefully considered.…

When I think back to my most memorable teacher I immediately am reminded of my third grade teacher Ms. Castaldi. Her classroom was set up in small groups of four around the room, her desk in the middle. I liked this classroom arrangement as a child because I felt like she was one of the students. Ms. Castadli treated all her students with respect and was extremely caring and understanding, like a mother. She had a true passion for what she did and it really showed because all of her students were successful in the classroom.…
