E3; Describe the main legislations in your country that supports the rights of children;
The Children (NI) Order (1995) is one of the main pieces of legislation in our country which supports the rights of children and shows that children should be treated equally and also fairly. They should also be treated with respect and should always be given a chance and should always be kept safe and out of any danger. Children have the right to be with their families or those who will care for them they have the right to enough food and clean water to be clothed and sheltered. They also have the right to play and freedom. Disabled children have the right to special care.
Human Rights Act 2000 states;

As early years practitioners there are principles and values that we must meet in order to carry out our job to the best if our ability. They were designed to provide a basis for work with the children in a range of settings and services. They meet the needs and rights of the child and reflect a rapidly developing sector that places the child at the centre. These principles should underpin all our work with children.
The Cache statement of values used in Tassoni el al (2007) state that;
The Cache candidate will put the child first by;
Ensuring the child’s welfare and safety, Respecting the child as an individual, Showing compassion and sensitivity, Upholding the child’s rights and dignity, Enabling the child to achieve their full learning potential, Never use physical punishment, Respect the parent or those in a parenting role, Respect the contribution and expertise of staff in the placement/setting, Practitioners work with parents and families who are partners in care, learning and development of their children and are the child’s first most enduring
