Assess how own attitude, values and behaviour could impact on work with children and young people
You should always be professional within the work place, it is important to remember that we are role models. If we act inappropriately then children and young people will think it’s acceptable for them to act like that too. Children look up to us and will copy what we do, we should include all children and young people .we should praise them and not discriminate. If we are respectful it will show children and young people how to be with each other. Describe the importance of supporting the right of all children and young people to participation and equality of access
It is important to support participation and equality of access so that every pupil has the same opportunities offered to them regardless of their personal background. Participation would be to include everyone in school, even if a child cannot fully participate, we should always involve them. In my school we have a student council, a group from key stage 1 and a group from key stage 2, they help decide on treats such as discos and parties, they also let school know what they like and dislike within school and what can be done to improve it, and make it a better place for the student. We should help pupils to do their best and build on their achievements. As a school we have a duty so that all pupils have equal access to the curriculum despite their race, culture, gender or disability. The curriculum should meet needs of individual children, intervention maybe needed to be put in place to meet needs of the pupil.
