Tastee Essay
Tastee Products is a middle sized company at the national candy market level. The Tastee Bar, made of caramel and nougat with a milk chocolate coat, makes up 50% of Tastee’s revenue. As a result of the Tastee Bar’s popularity the company is aiming to compete with larger candy markets within U.S market. However, a recent inspection reported that a plant in Delaware, where most of the Tastee Bar is manufactured, has produced the chocolate in equipment that is used to make other chocolates containing peanuts, almonds and walnuts. The problem with this is the threat for allergy-sensitive consumers coming in contact with the bars that have been compromised.
A case similar to that of Tastee is Johnson and Johnson’s response to the Tylenol incident of 1982 and 1986. The incident involved a lack of product quality control that led to many deaths directly related to poison found within the Tylenol pills. One of the top brands in the world, Johnson and Johnson was slow to react to the incident but recalled all its over the counter medicines, including Tylenol.
Johnson and Johnson thus requested products such as Benadryl, Motril, Rolaids, Simply Sleep, and Aspirins to be returned as a result of the discovery of safety issues that are dangerous to the consumer. I believe that this process of recall was one of

This would be more important for the parents, who would realize that the company is working toward creating a safer product for the people. This idea can also be supported by an awareness campaign aimed to creating awareness on the importance of allergy-free zones in the manufacturers of product companies. Especially if they want to compete with bigger U.S
