Tap Water Persuasive Speech
First of all, I like how you approached your speech with the visual of a reusable water bottle, asking the question immediately grabbing the audience attention ‘By a show of hands, how many of you own and regularly use some sort of reusable water bottle like the one in front of me?’ That is something I wish I could have done different, some type of visual item to grab the audience attention even more. I thought your argument was well presented but I thought you did not really give the students a good enough reason to how it will benefit them. Have to keep in mind that students are more interested in things that benefit them in a huge degree. It seems as if you were just stating the problems it brings when wasting an excessive number of plastic bottles and the changes it will bring in the world if we used reusable bottles, that part I thought you did very well. …show more content…
The statistics you provided kept me engaged in the speech which is a bonus but maybe you could have grabbed the audience attention again in the middle of your speech with a question or maybe just stating one of your stats with a high aggressive tone. One thing I also think you could have done better is how you included your fallacies, you really just added them in your conclusion but I think you could have squeezed at least one of them in the middle of the speech rather than stating them back to back in your conclusion. All in all I thought it was a successful

Advertisements use techniques or methods to persuade their audience into purchasing their product.Such techniques are capable of actually working sometimes. All depending on the viewer being gullible or convinced enough by the way in which a product is advertised that they’ll actually buy it.No matter if the product that they’ll eventually buy is useful or not or if they even need it.These persuasive techniques can also be used negatively or positively and because of this can impact or influence their viewers’ way of thinking or percieving things.Such can be seen in the vitamin water advertisement.By using transfer and emotional words, vitamin water has created an untruthful and unpersuasive ad.…

Our main goals are to first begin by enlightening the public of the amount of waste that is produced in different intervals of time through out our campus and college community. Next, we would like to campaign an effort toward making cognitive decisions about how to help not only reduce the amount of waste we produce so frequently, and help to encourage others into making more environmental waste decisions, such as recycling wasteful materials and reusing materials that are eligible for reuse. Also in our effort to encourage recycling, we would like to focus a large portion of our efforts into the recycling, reuse and reduction of plastic water bottles. Lastly, to follow up these efforts, we would like to educate and demonstrate some useful alternatives to plastic bottles, such as reusable water containers. There are many containers such as Nalgene bottles, and other aluminum canteens that are designed to be used over and over again and cost much less than purchasing bottled water. There are even containers with built in water filters to ensure that every time you use it, you are getting crisp, clean water.…

For most singers, they have the tendency to rely on the internet to find a remedy or ideas that can help them cure their voice problems fast. Or they go to a friend, who strobly believe that they have found the right beverage or mixed drink that can help them with their vocal needs. Whether it’s a sore throat before a big show, having a head cold, or having that little tickle in the back of your throat that won’t go away, there always seems to be something out in the world that can help singers and performers with vocal problems. Today we are crossing the Kansas River to reach Alcone Springs. We still have a long way but it takes about 15 minutes to cross so I thought i would sit down and write about our past 3 days. It cost $1 to use the Pappin Ferry to get across. Our rope has been really good so far and haven't fixed it. On the 19th Grace got a spring cold which I got really worried because i don't know where a General store is ahead and if we run out of medicine right now… it will be bad. Other then that, much hasn't happened besides getting sick. The journey is doing good so far, lots of walking and stopping but what can you do.…

Hi Octaveious, Gatorade sports drink, which I remember as the 3 R’s to rehydrate, refuel, and replenish athletes in the place of water, contains a lot of sugar which can be unhealthy. This is especially true for children that aren’t as active as athletes. My son has played basketball since he was five years old. He’s seventeen now, and I buy Gatorade for him to drink when it seems like his energy level is low, but he still prefers water 90% of the…

Today, we enjoy a greater modicum of freedom that some of our ancestors could've only dreamed of. However, as we all know, freedom is, quite ironically, not free. Our ancestors all had to escape oppression, whether it be from a tyrannous ruler or a society that demeaned them to nothing because of the color of their skin or their gender. America, the land of opportunity, was a land built by the labours of our forefathers. These men and women fought so valiantly not only to ensure their freedom, but also the freedom of the future generations ahead of them. Even today, although we may not realize it, when we fight for a cause that we are dedicated to, we are not only cementing our futures, but the futures of those ahead of us. It is a quote from…

Brewing beer at home is something that has stood the test of time. Still, many are resolute that convenience is best for them and continue to drink only beer that they have paid for at a liquor store or at a bar. However, the thing about that kind of convenience is that you pay for it every time. As insignificant as the additional cost can seem at the time, it certainly becomes significant over the course of a years worth of sports games, parties and nights out.…

When signing up to be an organ donor you usually think only your major organs will be used; however, something as small as a ligament of yours is used in popular surgeries such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions. When someone tears their ACL they usually have a choice to have an autograft, or use one of their own ligaments, but they can also choose to have an allograft, or take a cadaver’s ligament to repair it. Each has it’s advantages and disadvantages, but I personally think that the better option is the allograft because I think the advantages are better than using your own ligament from another part of your body. The advantages consist of faster operative time, less post-operative pain, and a faster recovery time.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…
