I am currently living at 1-N E.Aguinaldo St., West Rembo, Makati City. First of all, I can say that our community is a worthy place to live in because we practice cleanliness and I am comfortable with my community. As my observation, even though I always get home late but I have a lot of free time in the morning, so I decided to walk in the streets to observe what is going on in the community, and as I roam around I see peace and order in our community. Like the typical community, there were school, market, parks, and basketball courts for the youths. As I roam around the streets, I saw students go to the basketball court after their classes, some of them go to computer shops and play. I also observed that there were students that cut classes and go to computer shops to spend hours and wait until the dismissal time comes. As a student, I pity them, because they are wasting their time in playing games instead of learning in school and educating themselves. There are also a lot of out of school youths and many of them were involve in the usage of illegal drugs, and I think that is the problem in our community. We should decrease the number of out of school youths and make projects to make them busy or for them to have something to do instead of using illegal drugs and making their lives miserable. To wrap it up, I think the problem in our community is how to decrease the population of the out of school youths in our community and help them to educate for them to have a better life.

This is especially important in the moral and intellectual development of youth. Education is inextricably linked to moral development, as this provides for misconduct that may be related to a child or adolescent. On the other hand, institutional support can be provided through state rehabilitation centers to implement a regulation based standards of conduct, control of their actions, and motivation. Similarly, community work would provide social and economic support to young people who need it most, and that many times, necessity is a factor in crime. I think society have the ability to help these kids, we only need to want to try, if we form a unity between society and moral behavior, the youth will be oriented on track and a good future in store for the city.…

The Austin Community located on the Westside of Chicago is plagued by a series of problems involving African American youth between the ages of 7-17. One of the problems is that many of these youth participate in gang affiliation, drug use, crime, unhealthy eating habits and sexual habits, gang and domestic violence, abuse, bullying, teen pregnancy and the list goes on. Another major reason why the Austin area is plagued by some many social concerns is due to poverty. This harsh reality is also stated in the Chicago data mapping which states, “35.6% of Austin residents live below the poverty level” (). Being that my internship site BUILD is located in the Austin Community and that I intern and work with the youth at Leland Elementary in this community all of the youth participants I work with are currently affected or associated with these issues in some way.…

    Prison Pipeline Abuse

Mainly, the current situation has been caused by new, more strict policies in schools. In order to cut down on misconduct, educational administrators began to implement harsh regulations. For example, in many schools, “Zero Tolerance” policies were enforced. Originally, the policies were meant to keep students clear from the rise in gang activity and other crime. However, “By criminalizing routine disciplinary problems, they have damaged the lives of many children by making them more likely to drop out and entangling them, sometimes permanently, in the criminal justice system” (“The School-to-Prison Pipeline”). In doing so, strict school regulations have led to the formation of the pipeline itself. By involving students with the law at an early age, school officials are causing them to live lives riddled with crime. Another cause leading to the problem is the increase in gang affiliation in public schools. Both Kayla Gass and Judson Laughter believe that gang affiliation is often connected to misconduct, and it is the misconduct that results in students being affected by the school to prison pipeline (4). While gang affiliation may not seem relevant in many neighborhoods, in others it is the main supplier of children for the pipeline to feed on. In fact, it is a combination of these two causes that has resulted in the current situation of the school to prison pipeline…

What the public schools’ educational system needs is a reconstruction that would bring back its diminishing glory but not with the infusion of religion into education, because one's beliefs is not the problem, which is neither the solution to the impaired educational system. What the youths need is to understand respect, self-discipline, and responsibility, which help to shape future leaders. Public schools also needs further…

Manila is the capital of the Philippines, but it is also one of places where there are insufficient educational needs for the lower class. We have observed that there are a few people in the area that are dressed properly, and even if it is a school day, many children are playing outside with their fellow neighbor. While the children are playing, shouting, fighting, or having fun, their mothers are all rounded up on a table on the streets playing Bingo. Some of the father is already cooking a meal outside the streets, using only charcoal and a cardboard box for fanning the fire. There are also a lot of reported crimes that link to the people living in that area. Some crimes include hold-up, robbery, homicide, etc.…

Time has changed so do the social issues. Problems arising among the youth are at the alarming state. Main problems like smoking, gangsterism and illegal racing are affecting the country’s development. Gangsterism is common in a developing nation such as Malaysia and we have heard a lot about it occurring in schools. It has been reported that in developed countries, school children are increasingly involved in gangs. Gangsters are a threat to society and you can be considered a gangster if you are involved in any of these activities such as extort money from others, receive payment for threatening others or to beat someone up, ransom people for money, be a part of organised crime, force anyone to join a gang and its illegal activities, attend a gang’s swearing-in ceremony and engage in ‘tabletalk’ or a fight with other gang members. We, as a part of the society must prevent the problem of gangsterism from spreading. However, to solve this problem we must first get to know that it was caused by the influences from the surrounding, the intention of teenagers to attract other’s attention and to protect themselves. Many feel that gangsterism is caused by the teenager himself. But, this phenomenon is actually caused by the influences from the surrounding of the teenagers. In most cases, those who involves in gang activities are influenced by their school mates and friends who also involve in such activities. During this period, teenagers are easily influenced by others because they are very sensitive and don’t want to feel left out by their peers. In order to win the respect from their friends, they join these gangs. They are willing to involve themselves in gang activities such as extort money from others, fighting and receive payment for threatening others although they knew that it’s a negative activity. Besides, teenagers may also be influenced by the media to become a gangster. Nowadays, multimedia such as internet, television and radio are very popular and common…

Social researchers conclude that high rates of crime among the young and poor are due to culture of poverty prevailing in their neighborhood. As per these researchers, young residents of relatively poor areas within metropolitan often lack the basic necessities of life and develop values that imply violence as effective means of attaining these items. This trend spreads fast within these communities and poor youth, that generally lacks job opportunities, becomes involved in these crimes to make both ends meet.…
