Taiwan Taxi's Icall System
As passengers, I experience the different situations when stage goes on.
In the past times, take a taxi is uncomfortable and even a dangerous thing. On one side, drivers do not wear uniforms and dressed sloppily behind the wheel, this result in a less-than-professional image. On the other side, cars were always dirty and smelt unpleasant. The most important, there were some cases involved drivers committing crimes against passengers. But now the situation changed a lot. The drivers are people-oriented. You can see drivers wear uniforms which made them be looked very professional. The cars are clean and spacious. The drivers provided personal service such as buying breakfast for clients without charging extra. Moreover, taking taxi become safer than before. If they are ferrying female passengers, they will not depart until their passengers were safely in their homes.
When Taiwan Taxi extended into telecommunication, as passengers, we can use a mobile phone to book a vehicle, this is much convenient for ours. We can make full use of time to work better, live better. Second, we can choose one day travel through taxi. If you live alone, this is a good idea. In many cases, the fare was embedded in the tour package. Third, we can buy some music CDs, popular books, concert tickets and special promotional items (such as healthy food, USB drives, cosmetics and clothing) from the cab drivers. Maybe when I am taking a long distant route, I will buy something I just want to buy. Except this, we also buy beverages, food and so on from the taxi driver. Fourth, we can use taxi as express delivery. For example, tomorrow is Mother’s Day, and we can call the call center to book a taxi to send flowers to express our sincerely thanks.
We can also use LCD screen to search for restaurants, check out the latest news, search for entertainment hot spots or participate in online shopping.
When comes to the route, in the past, to the strange passengers, they don’t know the route so the driver may take a long route to deceive the passengers. But when iCall systems were made to use, the customers can verify the route they were travelling.
Service agents play a very important role. We can get timing message when the taxi taking our children was delayed by the heavy traffic. If we have some suggestions or complaints, they can give a quick response.
If you are getting a marriage, you can post your wedding photographs on selected taxi.

In Taipei, taxis are easily available due to oversaturation. This led to a belief among drivers that they did not have to join a taxi company as they could still get passengers from the streets. Also, it was perceived that the passengers did not really think it was necessary to ‘book’ taxi due to availability.…

Chauffeur companies are a considerable choice for busy parents and children who don`t have time. As stated by Nick Allen, Shuddle CEO,” “As we are heading back to school, we`re seeing a lot of interest, a lot of activity.” (Chauffer). The validation in this statement just comes to show that these companies are convenient and very profitable. They even shuttle kids to their after school activities, making it even more enticing. Nick Allen also stated that kids and parents alike are getting busier and the school districts` transportation systems are slowly declining opening a great opportunity for chauffeur companies. This inference is an implication that it`s time to start taking chauffeur shuttles to activities and school. As said previously;…

The concept of ride sharing has evolved immensely over the last 50 years from its onset – as carpooling served as a way for commuters to circumvent the high gas prices of the 1970s. To the present day, where hipsters and business men alike utilize companies such as Uber, Lyft, and SideCar as an alternative to a crowded and often unreliable public transportation system as well as the price-gouging from taxi drivers.…

The number of trips by taxis in New York fell by 8% between 2012 and 2014, and the drop was even more severe in San Francisco, where use of taxis declined by 65%. A study, performed in five cities, found that Uber drivers had higher capacity utilization rates than taxis, likely due to Uber’s more efficient ordering and pricing methods, its larger scale, as well as inefficiencies of taxi regulation. Beyond Lower fares, ride-sharing services has several advantages over regular taxis services. Instead of waiting or calling a taxi service, passengers can request a car through one of the ride-sharing services platforms and watch the car’s progress towards their location. In addition, because payment transactions are performed electronically, passengers can travel without cash or cards. In addition to all that, users can check the profile of the driver before selecting them and give their own opinion rating after the ride. This makes them feel safer than entering the car of a completely unknown driver. That is why ride-sharing services entry has made things more difficult for taxi…
