In today’s world, information technology is becoming a necessity. It helps in becoming things easier, faster, and more convenient. It is beneficial to individuals and organizations such as business enterprises, companies, institutions, and the government. One big contribution of the information technology is the computer. A computer is a machine which based on those instructions. Computers are fast becoming our way of life and one cannot imagine life without computers in today’s world. You go to a hotel for reservation, you buy ticket for a cinema, you go to a library, or you go to a bank, you will find computers at all places. Computer nowadays is a basic need for businesses or companies. It helps a lot in such a way that it makes work more progressive and productive. It is an important thing that a company of small business should have because it helps a lot in many ways such as organizing, storing and manipulating data. Having computer programs may help a company grow bigger and be competitive in the flow of the business world. It helps a lot because almost all the companies nowadays uses computer literate and very competitive in many aspects. Whatever kind of business you manage, you are required by law to keep financial records relating to it.
1.2 PROCEDURES AND METHODS USED DURING THE INVESTIGATION
These were the procedures followed by the researchers to conduct their study:
Step 1: Finding a business for open investigation
The researchers looked for a small business in Tagum City for problem investigation. The researchers found the Jojo Ice Cream Station, a small ice cream Station in Tagum City, which was willing to be investigated by the researchers.
Step 2: Making a letter for permission
The researchers made a letter for the Jojo Ice Cream Station for the formality of the investigation.
Step 3: Investigating the problem
The researchers started to investigate and asked questions to the owner of the Jojo Ice Cream Station.
Step 4: Making the system
The researchers started to make the Costumer Order System after the problem had been clarified.
Step 5: Making conclusions
After the system-making, the researchers analyzed the problem and draw out educated conclusions.
1.3 Overview/Description of the Project
Our system called “A COMPUTERIZED ORDER RESERVATION SYSTEM FOR JOJO ICE CREAM STATION”
It performs an easy transaction to the customer’s identification and ordered products. The purpose of the researchers system is to help their business in reducing human error and allows information to flow to an infrastructure without a time consuming data input process. There is also less chance of handwritten orders being misread and a higher customer turnaround as customers will be served faster. The researchers change or enhance our system when the company adds a new ice cream flavor and also the settings of the system.
1.3.1 Scope and delimitation
The scope of our system is intended for customer’s order only. Order products via stored information in the database. Online order, online payment, printing of receipt and tracking customer’s order via Global Positioning System (GPS) are not included.
1.4 DEFINITION OF TERMS
ADMINISTRATOR. It is the person in charge in managing administering the system. The person who has access to all parts of the system DATA. It is the presentation of facts, concepts or instruction used for processing transaction for ordering system. EMPLOYEE. It is user or the employee who has used the account. REPORT. It can view demand products to the administrator.
SUPPORT. It is a personal or professional contact available to a person or organization for practical or moral support when needed.
