Sylvia Earle Research Paper

A not so famous but still important oceanographer, a scientist who spends her whole job under water. This scientist’s name is Sylvia Earle. Sylvia Earle attended a university and went to college for about four to five years. Sylvia Earle decided to become an oceanographer when she was just in middle school. She knew she loved the sea since she was little. Sylvia Earle was born on August 30th, 1935. She is currently 81 years old and was born in Gibbstown Greenwich, Township New Jersey. She went to college at Duke University and graduated in 1964. She took time off of college to start a family and had two children. Sylvia wrote 13 different books and has one movie on her. She was a chief of scientist of NOAA, (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and received four awards. Sylvia Earle may not have made top charts at best oceanographer but
Well no, I wouldn’t but let me explain why. This is just me I wouldn’t want this as a job for multiple reasons. One is I do not do going into the ocean where there are sharks and other animals in the water that could hurt me. A second reason I wouldn’t have this as a job is because being under the water and not being able to see all around me or everything under me. In my opinion I don’t like the being in the ocean deep in the ocean. It just scares me because of all of the unknown things in there. I’m also scared that one day the submarine will stop working and go to the sea floor where I can’t get out. Those are the big reasons I would never want to be an oceanographer.

Oceanography is a great scientific field because most of the ocean is undiscovered. If you are an oceanographer than you get to help the rest of the world find out what is really down there and find out more about what we already know is down there.
