1. Relationship of course and program
This course fosters the learning outcomes of General Education as reported on KIMEP catalogue. In particular, the course addresses the following program learning outcomes:
To know and understand the past and present developments in modern Kazakhstan
To appraise the history of emergence of nomadic societies and states on the territory of republic and its political and social structure in Soviet and Post-Soviet time
To get the basic knowledge to understanding the main historical tendencies covering the country
To implement basic social skills and communication techniques in the preparation of original essay
To use for writing essay interdisciplinary approaches where it is possible

2. Course description
In this course we will observe the process of formation of Kazakh territory, what tribes and confederations populated and changed the history of the region. Students will get a brief summary of Kazakhstan’s history since ancient times till nowadays (2000-s). The course goal is the explanation of statehood history on the territory of modern Kazakhstan, the peculiarities of its political, social and economic processes and also spiritual and material life of Kazakh people. This course represents a case of a history as translator of social-cultural memory of society
