What is an altered bat (also known as “doctored bat” or “juiced bat”) is a bat that has been physically altered from it’s “out of the wrapper” certified condition. (CincySoftball.com) Popular bat alteration include painting, end-loading, and shaving the barrel. Players, who are aware that the performance of composite bats tends to improve with use, attempt to shorten the amount for a bat to reach its maximum performance by employing the ABI (accelerated break-in). (CincySoftball.com) these characteristics of a bat are weight, inertia, and wall thickness. Instead it changes the properties of the bat how it flexes, and barrel stiffness.…

In Everything by Murs, he constantly makes references and alludes to the Bible. He does this by stating things that most people know about the story of Jesus Christ and the Bible’s basic teachings. “I take everything, Your hopes and your dreams and your hate and your lies, Oooh oooh oooh, in this life, I'll join everyone, From the old and the wise to the young, stay fly, When I die,” sings Murs. I believe that when he says this, he is talking about how God sent down his own son Jesus and how he died for our sins by sacrificing himself on the cross. Another example of him making an allusion to the Bible and or Torah is when he says,”God is love, Then hatin' is Satan.” He is saying that God is love, or good, and hatin’ is Satin, or Satin is bad; But as far as poetic devices go, he does not only use allusion, he also uses a lot of colloquialism such as, “sittin'…waitin'…smilin'.” This could have been caused by multiple things considering he grew up in the streets of San Fransisco and did not get much of a formal education other than rarely being home schooled. All in all Murs in not only a rapper when it comes to his music, he is a poet, and unlike most, his songs have meaning and do not just talk about getting money and doing drugs like most modern rappers who make the genre of rap frowned upon by so…

Instant replay in baseball is a topic that has been discussed more and more recently over the past years. There have been numerous accounts of botched calls over the years due to the fact of the delay of when, where, and how will this system be put in place. There has also been criticism on whether the game should be changed to a football style system where each team would get two challenges per game throughout the entirety of a 162 game season. Some people believe that this would only lengthen an already long season. According to the article “Against instant replay”, these are only “once-in-a-decade events”.…

There are many rules in kickball. First of all, the participants are divided into two teams, the kicking team and the pitching team. The number of players on the field can vary, but most commonly there are a minimum of seven players on the field and a maximum of 11. Depending on the league you are playing in, there may or may not be a referee enforcing the rules. World Adult Kickball Association rules say games should consist of five innings and should last no less than 45 minutes and no more than 90 minutes. The pitching team fields players in a manner similar to baseball. This side consists of a pitcher and catcher; first, second and third baseman; and three outfielders. If an eighth player is not available, teams can play without a catcher. The pitcher rolls the ball toward the kicker; the ball must be rolling on the ground as it passes over home plate. Once a ball is in play, members of the pitching team try to get the kicker out either by tagging him with the ball or, while holding the ball, touching the base the player is headed for. When the pitching team earns three outs, the inning is over and the teams trade places.…

The WIFFLE ball was designed to take the place of baseball, stickball and softball for boys and girls in back yards and city streets. It is made of a tough rubbery plastic – is light in weight and cannot be thrown or hit any great distance. The WIFFLE ball is also an excellent indoor ball. The WIFFLE ball is thrown like a baseball and will curve very easily. The minimum number of players required to play a game with the WIFFLEball is two – the pitcher and batter – one player per side. The maximum number of players that can complete are ten – five players to a side. If a full team is playing, each side will consist of a catcher, pitcher, double area fielder, triple area fielder and home run area fielder. Fielders cannot move from one area to another when a full team is playing. When more than two players are playing, captains for each side are picked and they choose their respective teams alternately. As in baseball, the game is played with one team at bat and one team in the field. The batting order of the team at bat shall be Pitcher, Catcher, Double Area player, Triple Area player and finally Home Run area player. The rules of play are similar to baseball, however there is no base running. Three outs to retire a side, per inning, nine innings per game. In case of a tie, additional innings are played. For a complete inning, both sides must bat. An out for the batter can be made in three ways: 1.The batter can strike out only if he/she swings at a pitched ball and does not foul tip the third strike. Foul tips count as a strike for the first two strikes only. A foul tip caught in back of the batters box does not count as an out. 2. Fly balls caught in fair or foul territory. 3. Ground balls caught while the ball is in motion, in fair territory. Bunting is not allowed and the batter cannot obtain a base on…

Fall softball helps players continue playing after their summer season of travel ball ends because it is played from late August to late October. The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), National Softball Association (NSA), and Amateur Softball Association (ASA) all hold softball tournaments inside domes during the winter months. Holiday tournaments are a commendable way to continue playing by participating in Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and Valentine’s Day tournaments through the off-season. Through the winter, most travel ball coaches hold practices three days a week because it is much harder to maintain softball skills in the winter than it is during the summer because a player cannot walk outside and just play softball. All traveling league players continue to learn and gain skill through the winter instead of losing their abilities, so they can perform at a higher level of competition like college players…

Baseball and softball have the same rules about the pitches that are thrown. If a batter receives four balls, they automatically get first base. If a batter receives three strikes, the batter is out. A foul ball is counted as a strike. In softball and baseball, after someone hits the ball into fair territory they must drop the bat and run to first. In both sports, the defense must get three outs before switching to offense. In both softball and baseball, runners must advance on ground balls hit if a teammate occupies the base behind them, starting with first base. The players play on the team; they do not play as a team. They have fixed positions they never leave. The second baseman never runs to assist the pitcher; the anesthesiologist never comes to the aid of the surgical nurse. "Up at bat, you are totally alone," is an old baseball saying. In the traditional Detroit design team, marketing people rarely saw designers and were never consulted by them. Designers did their work and passed it on to the development engineers, who in turn did their work and passed it on to…
