In 2003 a man known as Simon Hall was jailed after the brutal murder of Joan Albert in her home after an attempted burglary. Joan had suffered at least five stab wounds from a carving knife from her own kitchen, she was found dead in the hallway. He initially claimed he was innocent and although admitting to burglary, he claimed it was at a different place and therefore it was impossible for him to have killed Joan.
