Sustainable Marketing
Sustainable marketing refers to way of marketing which incorporates needs of the customer, the organisation and the society in general over a long term. It means designing and marketing products that can be used universally by all the consumers across the world over extended periods, without causing harm to either the consumers or the environment. It applies traditional marketing techniques but in a specific context. This category of marketing seeks to capitalize on the increased value consumers place on eco-friendly products and companies that have a perceived commitment to sustainability in its production and supply chains. What defines sustainable marketing? Well it is the adoption of sustainable business practices that create better businesses, better relationships and a better world. Sustainable marketing concept differs from the marketing concept in a way that it recognizes that organizations thrive from day to day by determining the current needs and wants of target customers and fulfilling those needs and wants more effectively and efficiently than competitors do. It focuses on meeting the copany's short-term sales, growth, and profit needs by giving customers what they want now. However, satisfying consumers' immidiate needs and desires doesn't always serve the future best interests of either customers or the business. There are numerous examples of marketing concept. TV, radio and magazine advertising that focus on the product and the needs of customers based upon demographics are concept. Societal marketing on the othe hand considers future welfare of consumers and strategic planning concept considers future company needs, the sustainable marketing concept considers both. Societal marketing places emphasis on the long-term well-being of society as a whole, incorporating this goal into the overall marketing plan of a company.
