Literature, is a beautiful and complex piece of art that can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Some of the ways literature is recognized are through film, plays, novels, and many more. Literature consists of realistic characters, originality, emotional complexity, conflict, and ethical appeal. An intuitive and wonderful piece of literature varies from genre, and purpose, but ultimately holds the same unit of structure. This unit

For example, if a book consists only of man walking down the street: getting in his car: going to work: going home: and finally going to bed, this would obviously hold very little importance to the average person and they would ultimately get bored resulting in a very broke author. The Time traveler’s wife carries suspense because without it there would not be a point to the book. Another example of the importance of suspense in literature and in this book would be that with suspense, like when henry -the main character- gets shot, it keeps the reader entertained and engaged. Without an engaged reader this book, as well as literature, would not be popular if even existent. Finally, without suspense, literature would not hold the number one beauty of life which is change. It takes change to create suspense and without change, the connection between the reader and the novel would diminish. For example, when a person gets in a long consistent routine, they get bored and want to change things. An example of this would be how the Time Traveler’s Wife uses originality as a blue print for the final result; its structure however, consists of the application of ethics logic and emotion. This being said the novel is the same as other pieces of literature but it still has the ability to be different. This is ironically just as people are made up of the same things, but are different and beautiful individuals. Continually, another example of originality application in this novel would be that the manipulation of time is a very unique idea. Although it is very unique and original, the author still incorporates a logical, ethical, and emotional appeal, as all literary pieces do. Although this is a modern piece of literature, when comparing it to the famous “Romeo and Juliet,” differs in language and they still fall under the same category and literary

In the novel, the author uses a lot of dialogue to create the suspense needed to make the storyline interesting. For example, on page 259 in chapter 19, the narrator is speaking with Ben. “‘The fishes have eaten her up by now, haven’t they?” he said. “Who?” I said. “Her,” he said, “the other one.” “Fishes don’t eat steamers, Ben.”’ The narrator does not understand that Ben is speaking about Rebecca’s body in the cabin of the boat that was found. Edgar Allan Poe uses suspense in his story, “The Tell-Tale Heart” when the old man the narrator is trying to kill wakes up and does not go back to sleep. “I had my head in, and was about to open the lantern, when my thumb slipped upon the tin fastening, and the old man sprang up in the bed, crying out-“Who's there?” (Poe, 356). This tells you how he adds suspense because after this happened, they were just staying still for a while waiting for another sound to be made. Another use of suspense in the story is, “He was…

The suspense in this breathtaking short story is extremely important because it keeps us wondering what Rainsford's and Zaroff's next moves are in the hunt. It keeps our minds active and thoughtful, feeding us with surprises and wonder. One incident when Rainsford makes a leap for the cold waters to avoid Zaroff and the hounds shows us the surprise of the action. The second after that, we wonder if he died of loss of oxygen. Every minute, Connell brings us another little event to bring up the suspense. Without the suspense, the story would be meaningless and boring. It would lose the audience's attention and we would lose the audience's attention and probably not read it today. So the suspense is one element that holds this story together.…
