Supertracker Dietary Assessment
Dietary Assessment tools help in identifying if an individual’s dietary intake and weight are within the recommended Dietary Guideline. A Dietary Assessment tool that is recommended by the USDA is SuperTracker, this application assesses the individual based on the information provided and informs if the dietary intake is within the recommended guidelines. The purpose of SuperTracker is to help Americans put the Dietary Guidelines for Americans into action. Traditionally, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans provide nutrition guidance for healthy Americans ages two years and older. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2010 contains guidance for individuals at increased risk of chronic disease due to the rising concern about the health of the American population. It provides a detailed report on what nutrients, amount of physical activity, food groups and calories, and other reports. The reports allow users to keep track of foods they eat and the amount of physical activity done per day. SuperTracker is extremely easy to navigate and a great way to keep track of one’s diet. FoodTracker is one of its features that inform users of targeted daily food group, daily calorie limits, and targeted physical activity for each day. This makes it easier for people to for people to know what to eat and the amount of exercise needed for the day. People who use this application are able to get personalized recommendations for what and how much to eat and optimal amounts of physical activity.
