Super Mario vs Sonic the Hedgehog

Video gaming has always been a very entertaining hobby for many and also a thrilling pastime for others. There are thousands of different games with many more characters that people can connect with, dream about being, or even loathe. Two of the most famous and heroic characters ever created are Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog. Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog are both the main protagonists of their respective series and adventures. Although their lifestyles and personalities differ greatly, their innate sense to accomplish good and protect the innocent are qualities they share. Despite their differing origins and species, both Mario and Sonic have similar friendships, rivalries, and motives.

The most differing aspect of both Mario and Sonic are their origins. Mario is depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian-American plumber who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario has a younger brother named Luigi who acts as a companion to Mario on most of his adventures. Mario and Luigi repeatedly stop the turtle-like villain Bowser's numerous plans to kidnap Princess Peach and take over the kingdom. Mario also has other enemies and rivals, including Donkey Kong, King Boo, and Wario and Waluigi (Mario and Luigi’s evil cousin counterparts). Along with Luigi, Mario has another faithful companion known as Yoshi. Yoshis are dragon-like creatures that come in a variety of colors. Different colored Yoshis have many different abilities which are useful whenever Mario or another hero is riding one of them. Although there are many different Yoshis, Mario is known to have one specific green Yoshi as a companion/pet simply named Yoshi. On the other hand, Sonic the Hedgehog is known as the world's fastest hedgehog. Sonic's greatest strength is his running speed, which is faster than the speed of sound.
