Summer Day
Summer! Summer! Summer! How nice does it feel sitting on the beach as the wind hits you across your face? I recall a time this summer when I went to spend a day at the Seven President Beach in Longbranch, New Jersey. This day was a really special day to me. It was a really special day to me because I was able to spend time with my family. The day started off with nice and beautiful weather. Unexpectedly, when we first arrived there, the weather began to change into foggy and rainy weather. My family and I went from an excited and happy mood to a miserable mood. We went to a store there to buy food, and decided to stay there waiting for the rain to stop. I felt so depressed watching the rain pour. I kept trying to make myself busy waiting for the rain to stop. It was so hard to keep myself busy. I thought I should go in stores and look at items there to waste time. That couldn’t help it. I was running so low on patience. I went to a point where I couldn’t handle it and was about to storm out of the store that I was in, to the car. Something amazing just happened. Coincidentally, the rain had finally stopped. We were all full of excitement when we had seen this amazing news. My family and I rushed back into the beach as fast as we were able to. We were able to have fun and complete the rest of the day at the beach. In conclusion, we ended up enjoying our day at the beach. Even though a problem stood in our way, we were still able to enjoy our day. I also learned a lesson that day which was to be patient. Patience is needed throughout our lives.

Trying to go to school the next day. Standing in the shower thinking maybe if I dont get out I wouldn't have to start my day and move on with it all. But as the water turns to a shivering cold I realize it’s all too real. Pushing through the first five periods of the day, the last three seemed as too much. Feeling as if I will never be able to be happy again. All these gloomy days crafted me into who I am today. This whole experience making me grow up just a little bit faster, and a little more mature and understanding seeming as I already live the life as an adult, but only being a…

Today wasn’t a good day, it was worst than most days. My brother and I woke up at 4:30am in order to be at the factory at 5:00am. We ate the leftover bread we didn’t eat for dinner on the run to the factory, but it was raining today, unfortunately, and that made us late. Which was what started our horrible day, despite the fact that I actually love rain, the sound it makes when it hits the ground is calming, but I don’t like the consequences it brought my brother and I today.…

Life can change in the blink of an eye, and we learned this lesson rather quickly. We had been so focused on moving to our new home that the news of the approaching storm seemed of little or no importance. Everyone there seemed very at ease, most talked about going through Hurricane Camille, and how this storm would likely move closer to Texas and we had nothing to worry about. We stopped from packing for an hour or so, and decided to go out for a bite of lunch at a nearby restaurant. That was the moment that made everything seem surreal, people were frantically packing into stores in droves. Long lines everywhere and traffic was congested with people getting on highway 90 and heading out of town. After we ate a sense of urgency filled us, with what do we do now? We made our way to Wal-Mart, and spent several hours gathering food, flashlights, candles, bottled water, batteries and wood to cover our windows at home. Also we stopped at a locally designated place to get sandbags to stop water from coming in if floodwaters got…

The rain was coming down even faster and harder than yesterday and it was already miserable. I walked to my hole touching my bag which was drenched, hoping it would be a lucky day, but already figured out after the first shot it was bound to be another long one. It took a long forty-five minutes for the first one and a half holes, and all the sudden one of the best things happened. The sirens went off! We all marked our ball and headed to the clubhouse where we found out that we were done golfing and play was not going to resume. This was the best news that I had heard in the past two days, and I was ecstatic to be…

It was nearly sunset and I was relaxing along the soothing beach in Capitola, California. My brother and sister were assembling sand and shells to make a colossal sand city while my parents were in two chairs chatting. As I was ambling down the oceanfront my feet would feel the chilly waves and I could sense the gentle wind blowing my way. I was reminiscing about the exciting activities previously that day, including swimming through the waves, body surfing, and passing around a volleyball with my brother.…

We were all in my living room watching the news on updates of the storm. No one was worried until we watched the storm hit Broad Channel. The news showed the streets flooding with ocean water, businesses destroyed, and houses either collapsing or floating away. I could see the tears coming down from Andrew and Ellen’s eyes but they tried to control their emotions as best as possible. Then minutes later all lights and our television shut off completely and the rain was coming down hard. We were prepared for this with extra lights and candles. Since there was nothing to do, we decided to look out the windows for the time being. The street lights were all out and all we could see were the cars coming down the street and with that came the water. The more vehicles that came down the block, the more water that would come with it and flood the streets. Not only that, but the winds were picking up and pieces of the roof tops of houses were falling off and being thrown on cars and other…

Death is brutal; it comes when we least expect it. Despite common knowledge that death is inevitable, we do little or nothing at all to prepare our loved ones for a life without us after we’re gone. Virtually everyone postpones writing a Will. Maybe it’s because we don’t want such a tangible reminder of our mortality. Or perhaps we view the process as relinquishing the ownership of our property. Whatever the excuse may be for putting off the drafting of a Will, many people do not realize that writing one prevents what is feared. In fact, a Will may be the most important document that you ever write, because it allows you to select the persons who will receive what you own when you die. If you don’t have one in place, you cannot select the recipients of your property and the state you reside in will determine how your property is divided.…
