rticle of The Week: Response The general argument made by Jean Twenge in his work, is smartphones are ruining a whole generation. More specifically Twenge argues that more kids are getting signs of depression, anxiety, and loneliness according to iGen. He writes “ IGen shows another pronounced break with millennials: Depression, anxiety, and loneliness have shot upward since 2012, with happiness declining.” In this passage Jean Twenge is suggesting that kids shouldn't use their phones as often because it can lead to that. In conclusion Twenge’s belief is that kids are getting sad because of smartphones.
