Summary Of The Story 'Hop-Frog'
In the story “Hop-Frog,” Hop-Frog is justified during his last jest to the king. The king treats him like trash while he talks to him during his performances and does not care about him: “His value was trebled in the eyes of the king, [The king is making fun of him] by the fact of his being also a dwarf and a cripple” (Poe 1). While he makes fun of Hop, he is getting more furious to the point where he is grinding his teeth. Further in the story the kind wants Hop-Frog to drink wine from a goblet even though he does not wish to: “ He knew that Hop-Frog was not fond of wine, for it excited the poor cripple to almost madness . . . But the king loved his practical jokes…”(Poe 2). This just shows how he is not a very good friend and even pushing
