Summary Of The Song 'Meant To Be'
“Meant To Be” - Florida Georgia Line The song, “Meant To Be” by Florida Georgia Line, represents my belief that something destined to happen will happen, and often you have to just let it. For example, when my dad passed away I was too young to really know what it meant, but I remember telling myself that he wasn’t in pain anymore. The phrase “If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be” helps me believe that we just had to let it happen because he was meant to be pain free after six years of fighting. Repetition is used in the phrase “baby, just let it be” to represent that you just have to let things happen. Imagery is used in the phrase “baby, just lay on back and relax, kick your pretty feet up on the dash” to illustrate that you just have

Ludacris does a remarkable job of portraying his message about the struggles that some adolescents are faced with. “Runaway Love”, by Ludacris, featuring Mary J. Blige (2007), represents the theme of struggle through hip-hop and rap music. It is about little girls who are “stuck up in the world on their own.” They have to take care of themselves because the people they are around do not care about them. They range from nine to eleven years in age, and their goal in life, at such a young age, is to run away from home. Ludacris is trying to get the listener to realize the struggles that even children have to face because adults are not the only ones who have problems, like most people believe. He is very successful in portraying his message through this song. Girls at that young of an age should be enjoying their childhood, but instead they are forced to become adults and take care of themselves.…

The human mind attaches many senses and feelings to melodies; they are tied to moments in life. Everyone feels the same emotions even though people are all different and unique. Songs are written about all sorts of feelings such as happiness, sadness, angriness, and sorrow. For example, if a person is having a bad day he can find a song relating to how he is feeling. Sometimes, the path of life contains various obstacles and instead of holding on we surrender via selecting the easy choice and then, sink ourselves in the river of failed hopes and dreams; giving up. Counting stars, now a popular song, was performed in 2013 by an American pop rock band called One Republic. Ryan Tedder, the band’s lead singer composed the song and produced it. The reason that lingers behind the composition of the song; according to the composer, is to resurface the importance of the issue of drugs in his hometown, America; and to recur the consequences of merging yourself deep within this problematic, influential situation. The song was written…

“And when you get the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.” (Sillers,2010, ll.8.&9.) If you had the chance to sit it out or dance, would you dance? This amazingly, inspirational song was written by Tia Sillers when she was at her breaking point, sitting on the beach just after going through a heart wrenching divorce. It really is peculiar that such an inspirational and beautiful song such as “I hope you dance” was written at such a devastating time. As she sat beside the ocean, pondering on all that she been through, she realized, things aren’t so bad. She interprets this in her lyrics by saying “I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.” (Sillers,2010, l.5) “I hope you dance” is unmistakabley pulled from deep within Siller’s soul. Anyone who hears this song, and truly takes these lyrics to heart could undoubtedly pull themselves out of whatever strife they may be going through at any given time. With Mrs. Siller’s inspirational words, she truly has created the most breath taking song of our time.…

Following World War Two, the two legitimate world powers were the United States and the Soviet Union. With the Soviet Union under a communistic government and the United States being a nation founded in Capitalism, tensions between the two nations rose, resulting in the Cold War. Against the wishes of the United States, small countries in East Asia began to turn communist. Fear that one country turning would have a chain reaction turning many more, the United States turned to a policy of ‘containment’. This policy was tested in the Korean War and would be again tested in the Vietnam War. Starting as a War with the communist North Vietnam against South Vietnam and the French, with the French’s withdraw from the War, the United States intervened to preserve democracy. This would prove to be the most controversial war in American history which spawned large scale protest including the rock group, Creedence Clearwater Revival and their song, “Fortunate Son”.…

The refrain that is repeated throughout the song is, “Forgive me, I'm trying to find my calling, I'm calling at night. I don't mean to be a bother, but have you seen this girl? I'm going to ask her to marry me.” At the beginning of this song these line are used to show how the man of the story has fallen head-over-heels for a girl. Don't look at me is the first line of Christina Aguilera's song "Beautiful." This instant whisper from the voice of Aguilera creates an ashamed vibe for the song. It is spoken quietly and without any musical instrumentation. As the music softly and brilliantly builds up to the first verse listener's already have a misinterpretation of the lyrics. The audience presumes that the song will be about depression or shame and disgrace because one would associate not wanting people to look at you with shame. However, once they read more into the lyrics they notice that the meaning of the song is much deeper than shame and actually has an opposite message. When the audience hears the title of the song they could also make the assumption that the song is about beauty and the images of pop stars, although it is about finding beauty in everyone. Beautiful is something or someone that is 'pleasing to the senses.' We all have inner beauties that define us as individuals.…

The song starts out with a strang questioning of reality: “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, No escape from reality, Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see”. They first two lines are rhetorical questions. They help establish the state of mind needed in order to continue with the song. The third line is a metaphor. It means everything is crashing down on him, and he cannot escape it. It seems to conclude that he is caught between a dream and awakening. The next couple set of lines are being used as transitions into the main part of stanza one, “I’m just a poor boy, I need no sympathy, Because I’m easy come, easy go, Little high, little low, Any way the wind blows, Doesn’t really matter to me, to me”. In the third and fourth line repetition is used in order to keep the lyrics flowing. The boy thinks his life doesn’t matter to anyone, his life is meaningless and the Earth does not care what happens to him. He does not care what happens next, he just wants it over; “any way the wind blows” him, he will go and it “doesn’t really matter” to him anymore. The next three lines show intent to kill by the boy, “Mama, just killed a man, Put a gun against his head, Pulled my trigger, now he’s dead”. The boy has finally come to terms of what he has…
