“Life Under a Chief Doublespeak Officer” is the essay that I have chosen. The purpose of this essay is to explain how doublespeak is used. It shows how some words can be changed to seem like it something important when it is not. William Lutz wrote about how a band could call a robbery just a authorized transaction. A bank in Texas did this as their ATM was stolen. (Lutz, para. 3.) The descriptive writing pattern used by this writer is specific language. I feel that he uses this pattern extremely well.
