When Ben’s parents threw a graduation party for him he felt like he was pressured to pick a career right after college. Just like him my parents, friends, family members, and other random people always open conversations with the question “what do you want to be after college?” and I always reply, “I don’t really know yet.” In the movie, when Ben was being pulled aside from family members they had suggestions for his future career, and I can relate to that because, in family occasions, suggestions of what I can be in the future are always pouring from every direction. For me, the suggestions don’t help but put more pressure on me and for some reason, the suggestions don’t interest me. Every suggestion I’ve heard is the same ones I hear whenever a person comes up to me. But for Ben, he’s persuaded to follow his parents’ footsteps and granted a sportscar, a job with his parents, and other fancy goodies.…

As a child, I always found myself participating in creative activities. My siblings and I were always playing make believe from acting as if we were in college or grown up to running up and down our neighborhood’s sidewalks as secret spies on a mission to save the world! When I was first introduced to writing short stories in grade school, I became hooked because I could literally depict any image I wanted to and that sparked my 7 year old brain. There were always movies playing in my head; it was crucial to me to produce those visions. Now, as a senior in high school, I have become partial to not only writing fictional narratives but non-fiction narratives as well. I have applied and been accepted to Clark Atlanta University…

When given the choice between being a superhero or supervillain, most people would want to be the hero. Who wouldn’t want to be the star of the show, the one to gain all the fame and glory? It’s when it comes to deciding your superpower where people normally get tripped up. Do you choose the one that any obvious hero has, or do you accidentally elect the power a villain would choose? I know what you’re thinking. ‘How do you know which one is the villain power?’ ‘What even is the master label for good and evil?’ Well, lucky for you, Will Oremus’s essay “Superhero or Supervillain” answers those questions for you. If I could be any superhero, I would have to choose Spider-man/Peter Parker. I can see a lot of myself in Peter Parker before he gets his superpowers. I could also see myself making similar choices once I get my powers. I think that I would use them to help the general population. I would however probably also use the powers to help make money by competing in sports of some sort.…

Spiderman is a heroic character that is the main hero in his home town of Queens, New York where he is always fighting villains. Stan Lee has done a great job in showcasing another comic book character that is known to be “The amazing Spiderman.” This comic book character eventually became so well known that merchandise was being made into children books and clothing lines as well. Spiderman is known throughout the world which gives the character a superior name in the comic book section. The archetype that I am doing would of course be hero because everything that Spiderman does is for the good of his city. I see what you are trying to say, and the point you are trying to make. Personally, I did not have a problem with the introduction. I felt that was just fine. However, I do feel the average person may get lost in what the author was trying to convey in the article. Also, I felt that the superpowers of super heroes could relate to the talents of ordinary people; if only they would recognize them for what they are and the power they have in such talents. I do believe the author was trying to make this connection in the mind of the reader, but it really was not presented in a black and white manner that most would be able to pick up on. If a person realized what their strengths were, and put themselves in an occupational environment that complimented…
