Fritz Paper Two

CCP

For instance, on pages 225-226 we see Angela make a decision: “She has performed a kind of emergency triage, banishing the infected to save the well.” For this paper, present an argument in which you answer the following question: Was Angela Whitiker right or wrong to push her sons Nicholas and Willie out of the immediate family circle? Your essay must follow this structure: 1. The introduction paragraph—engage your reader in the problem. Show your reader what makes the problem important. The last

That is, what about the opposing view can you appreciate and can see that could be convincing? But, then, why do you suppose that this position is not sufficiently convincing? 4. The conclusion paragraph—summarize the central important point of your paper, and tell readers why your ideas about Angela Whitiker are important (that is, your conclusion should answer the question, “So what?”). Format: This paper should be written in 12 point Times New Roman font, double spaced, with one inch margins at the top, the bottom and the sides. Your paragraphs should have first line indentations, and there should be no additional spaces between paragraphs. Your paper must have a title. The beginning process of writing this paper was a very intimidating process for me. But with your help and the help of one of my peers, I think I’ve come a long way with the quality and formatting of my essay. My peer suggested that I use in text citations. Once I researched this to be sure it was necessary, I reviewed my paper and made these adjustments to the best of my understanding. She also pointed out that my thesis statement did not describe the effectiveness of the authors’ rhetorical device. I would not have caught this error otherwise. I expanded my thesis statement to better describe this effectiveness. In both of my feed backs it was mentioned that I didn’t have a strong conclusion. So by restructuring my final paragraph this allowed me to expand in my conclusion. Adding to it a final prospective on Kate Harding’s story.…

Improvements can be made in my essay in the areas of word choice and conventions. Throughout the essay, some words were used that should not have been. Above all, the biggest problem in this essay is the absence of a second counter argument. I was only able to write one body paragraph for the counter arguments, instead of two. In the future, I must improve on my conclusion and always keep it open. A small word choice error that can be improved is using the word “altered” instead of the word “made” with regards to my sentence about life being altered by multiple people. Another major problem that needs to be improved is the pronoun agreements, such as writing “their” or “they” instead of “his or her.” Improving on these conventions will only make my essay stronger and will receive a higher grade.…

Since 1948 there have been around 70 public inquiries into major cases of child abuse. The names of many of the children who have died have become well known, simply because of the terrible nature of their deaths. In many of these cases the child has been the target of abuse from an adult who is not the natural parent (typically a step-father). While the particular circumstances of each case are different, there are also areas of considerable similarity. In particular, the following features recur time after time:…
