Another interesting event that occurs is when Mr.Drury a worker (wasn't a very important character in the story) gets killed by witches and a woman was spotted near that site named Nelly Daws.Nelly was convicted of being a witch and taken to trial because during this time period witches were known to be evil, and the worst ones where called the old ones which fed on the talents of people. So Nelly was put to trial in front a chime child who is a person who has the sight to see both worlds the dead as well as the living. I thought that was so cool, if you think about it being able to talk to the dead, it wouldn't matter if your sister or mom, was dead because you would still be able to talk to them including your other loved ones.So as I was saying Nelly was found to be “guilty”, but that was just a random guess as when Nelly was hanged she was supposed to turn to dust which ment she was a witch, but sadly she didn’t turn to dust since she was innocent, but it was too late.As the trial was ending a pretty girl named Leanne steals Eldric’s attention from Briony beasue she was soo beautiful and attracting, plus taler on Leanne states, how she is so passionate about hunting witches and watching them get hanged even though this time a inoccent person was hanged.Again in the book Leanne steals away Eldric from Briony which gets her (Briony) jelouse so she tries to calm herself down as she knows a witches jelousy is nothing, but dangerous and if she gets to jelouos she”ll end up hurting Eldric, but she doesn’t want to do that. This part of the story was kinda cute because Briony doesn’t fully understanding of human emotions, and the first time she got jelous exept the time she was jelous of her stepmother playing…

After seeing the ghost of Peter Quint at the window the governess discovers that he was intently looking for Miles. "'He was looking for little Miles.' A portentous clearness now possessed me. 'That's whom he was looking for'" (31). Again upon seeing Miss Jessel's ghost across the pond the governess tells Mrs. Grose that the apparition had "'fixed the child...with such awful eyes...with a determination-indescribable. With a kind of fury of intention'" (38). These two incidents directly connect the children to the reason Quint and Miss Jessel have returned to Bly, to possess and live through Miles and Flora. The governess also concludes that the children are aware of their possessors and are deliberately trying to conceal Quint and Jessel's existence. At the pond, for instance, Flora deliberately turns her back on the apparition, consciously ignoring its existence, then later denies to the governess that it had in fact existed. It is for this reason the governess takes up her job with a new determination to save the "lost" (40) children. Again when the governess finds Flora awake late at night staring down through her window at Miles who was down on the lawn "motionless and as if fascinated... looking...at something that was apparently above me" (53). Later on Miles explains he was…
