Suffering In Edgar Allan Poe's Life
“With me poetry has not been a purpose, but a passion.” ("Edgar Allan Poe Quotes", 2016). Edgar Allan Poe is known as one of the most outstanding writers in history. Poe’s suffering became a physical, mental, and emotional highway to the creation of his many poems. Poe had a strange perspective on the world around him, because of the way he had lost multiple loved ones. Poverty was a big problem in Poe’s life, it threatened him in many dark ways, sometimes leading to debt and gambling. In addition, he also struggled with romance and the eternal search of love, never discovering that true love comes from knowing Christ. Despite all of Poe’s pain and loss, he still managed to leave behind a body of work that has left a lasting impression.
