Sucrose Research Paper
Sucrose is known as ‘table sugar’ that is found in plants and vegetables. It is a compound of glucose and fructose, so the formula is C12H22O11 (12 carbons, 22 hydrogens, and 11 oxygens). Sucrose is a very important molecule to life because it provides energy for physical and mental activities. During digestion, sucrose is broken down to glucose and fructose causing it metabolized. This causes it the cells to produce energy consumed by the body in order to create energy. In plants, it is located in the transportation unit and used in photosynthesis. In animals, it is mainly found in the digestive system.
