Stuffed Bear Monologue
“Mom, can we go to the toy store, please?” he asked in his sweetest voice as we drove down Main Street, and I couldn’t help but oblige. As we pulled into the lot of Harry’s Emporium of Toys, we crashed into a car speeding down the street that I could swear was coming right for us. When I awoke again, I found the tiniest stuffed bear cradled in my arms, then fell asleep still hugging the bear. Dr.Garnets was the first person I saw when I woke up. “Hello Mrs. Kellogg, I am Dr.Garnets.” The man in front of me said with a blank face

I don’t know what happened after that but I started to weep and ended up crying myself to sleep. Afterwards they poked me a bit they said I glass embedded in my brain and that I needed to have surgery, I replied with nothing. Sometime later they gave up and released me from the hospital. They said I seemed to be functioning fine even with the glass ripping through part of my brain.
I was sleepwalking through life and so I visited many places around Europe, I saw the odd tourist place here and there but my main quest was to find my son and see where in the world he could be. Everyone warned me that my son probably died in a back-alley with some random bloke and that I should stop looking before I hurt myself. Eventually, I gave up looking for him, but I guess you can never actually ‘give up’ looking for your son. I stayed in Bath and opened up a Bed and Breakfast right near the station. Not many people came to me. Most of the people who I saw striding down the street from the trains passed me by, without even looking at my brightly colored

Man missing for 30 years remembers his identity. Edgar Latulip was 21 years old when he had gone missing from Ontario City. On February 10, 2016, he was found in St. Catharines, Ont., which is approximately 130km from Ontario City. After arriving in the city years ago, Latulip had suffered from a head injury, and because of that he forgot who he was. At the time of his disappearance, the police thought that he had travelled to the Niagara Falls area, but they were unable to find him. Later on, they thought that they might have seen him in Hamilton, Ont., but they still could not track him down. In January, he told a social worker that he remembers his name. Police reported that the DNA test done confirmed his identity and reunited him with…

But life still went on, after all, nobody knew him. But still, people talked. For months after he was found, whispers floated around town. Rumors and theories as to who he had been, who killed him, and more importantly, would they strike again. For quite a while, a cloud of gloom and fear hovered over the town. People were more careful, stopped letting kids out after dark. And Hill Park, where I had played when I was a kid, became a morbid blotch in our community. Nobody knows much about the Hill Park boy, nobody except me got even a brief glimpse of who he…

The son, Charlie, tells his story about having an extra hour and a half between trains and wants to see his father. After extending a written invitation to his father, his father’s secretary responded and confirmed the reunion. The fact that his secretary responded tells us that, after not seeing his son for three years, he wasn’t overly exhilarated about seeing him. We can assume that he didn’t have ‘time’ to personally respond to his estranged son. But nevertheless, he agreed to meet. Seeing his father coming through the crowd, Charlie “felt that he was my father, my flesh and blood, my future and my doom” (Cheever…

I pulled my beanie securely on my head as I crouched down on a sturdy tree branch. My hunting knife reflected the dim light of the moon. It glinted letting my prey know I was there. "Yeah, I love a good chase!" I jumped from branch to branch as I chase my target. His brown hair was starting to gray but he ran pretty good for someone in their late forties. At least that's what boss lady said. I jumped down quietly as the man began to get tired. He began huffing as his pace slowed. I knocked into his back sending him into a tree. His chest heavily moved with his ragged breaths. I slowly approached him as I pulled my hunting knife back out. "Let play," I said in a deadpan tone. My eyes lost their light as I stared down at him.…
