It become a popular trend among the community to send their children to study overseas as for them our local universities does not have the international quality of education and poor in facilities. However, in my point of view, I totally disagree with the statement since I believe study in local universities is more beneficial. This shows that the foreigners trust our quality of education more than ourselves. Next, local universities also provided the qualified lecturers including lecturers who from overseas. All the lecturers are hired based on their experiences which must be at least 5 years in education field. Furthermore, most of the academic programs are received full accreditation from Malaysian Qualifications Agency who formerly known as National Accreditation Council. Thus, our local universities actually have the capability in producing many successful students like doctors, teachers, bankers, lawyers, architects, and others. There are possibilities to be influenced by the Western culture and lose certain local cultural values if they pursue their studies in overseas. When they are come

To start with, the first and foremost advantage of studying abroad is the constant use of the particular language which has been opted by one. No institution in one’s country can be better than this. For instance, if I have opted for English and I go to America for my further education, my decision will be considered the most favourable for me because daily I will be conversing in English which will further increase my fluency, pronunciation and even my vocabulary. I will be getting more confident and it won’t look like a second language. Then another great advantage is that as I will mix up with the society and culture, I’ll become a part of it and then would not feel lonely, insecure or unattended.…

Have you ever dreamed of studying in other countries, traveling to cool places, meeting lots of different people, and picking up a language or two? In recent years, studying abroad has been popular as the world becomes globalization. A record said that "241,791 U.S. students went abroad for academic credit in 2006-07, up 8% from the previous year, and nearly 150% more than a decade earlier" (you can check it here). More and more students leave their own country to go abroad for their further education. They say that they can develop better with advanced facilities and teaching methods in those modern schools. By communicating with foreign students or staying a long time with them, a profitable experience is available to them. By the time they come back home, they are supposed to have a great advantage over the students at home in many ways. I quite agree with what they say. But as also an overseas student, one fact I would like to remind them of is that quite a number of overseas students stay abroad disappointed as they can not obtain what they hope for, let alone success. When they are abroad, they are helpless and have to be independent (I had exactly the same situation), which is quite contrary to what it is at home. They lack independence; they can not even tell right and wrong apart, and as a result some of them even commit crimes. Therefore, whether it is good or not to study abroad depends on the individual. So take more factors into careful consideration.…
