A. INTRODUCTION

Did you ever stop to wonder what sets apart the really successful students from the average ones? Why do some students who appear to study all the time just get by, while others who don’t appear to put in as much time and effort do well? Is it all related to IQ and genetics or are some other factors involved? Success in school is not so much determined by sheer intelligence as knowing how to study. Studying is a skill. Being successful in school requires a high level of study skills. Students must first learn these skills, practice them and develop effective study habits in order to be successful. Study habits affects academic performance in that it provides a better way for success in school. Good study habits will increase your study skills. In turn, your capacity for processing and organizing information is increased. This comprehensive study is an analysis of the opinions presented by the respondents on their views regarding the effect of different study habits to their academic performances as BSA students. This is a work especially for the benefit of the academe.

B. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This research paper focuses on the effects of study habits influencing the academic performance of the students. It is also aimed to answer the following questions:
1. How may the respondents be described in terms of:
1.1 age;
1.2 gender; and
1.3 year level?
2. What study habits do BSA students find effective?
3. How do BSA students develop their study skills?
4. How effective their study habits are?

C. ASSUMPTION

1. The respondents may be described as:
1.1 16-20 years old;
1.2 both male and female; and
1.3 from 1st year to 4th year.
2. BSA students have different effective study habits.
3. BSA students develop their study skills in various ways.
4. BSA students’ study habits are effective.

D. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
