Student One Acts
I attended Moorpark College’s production of the Student One Acts on December 11,
2014. The first act that played was called “Chugger”. The first person who spoke was Zach
Kunkel who plays the character, Panda. He spoke in a very professional voice which made it feel like we were witnessing a businessman in progress. The second person to speak was Mazzeo who plays the character, Mr. S. Abernathy Peter. This character gives the vibe of someone who does nothing with their life. The last person who speaks is Marissa Nunez who plays the character, Deedee. The play overall was very mischievous and adventurous, although there is an important message that is being conveyed throughout the whole performance. It appears that people are desperate enough to do anything for millions of dollars, whether it kills them or not. A sad, but true fact of today’s society. I could not agree more to what the performance was depicting. All of the characters were key elements as to what may or may not happen if a person were to fall into the trap of what society has to offer. Although the performance had such a deep message behind it, I found that it was quite boring. The reason is because Kunkel’s character had too much energy and sass. It made the performance kind of amateur.
The second performance was called “Confessions”. The first person to speak on stage was Brian Claassen who plays the character, Augustine. In this performance, the messages about
“peer pressure” play a key role as the other characters come out. Although the message is true

when it comes to peer pressure, I found no interest towards the play. I am not putting any hard feelings at all towards the actors and actresses, but it seemed that they had too much energy to play the roles as the bullies. Ambrose, Monica, Friend, Faustus, Pear Thief Leader, and Una weren’t awful, but they could work on their sense of keeping a

Peer pressure is defined as the social influence a peer group exerts on its individual members, as each member attempts to conform to the expectations of the group. No matter the generation, peer pressure plays a big role throughout people’s lives. Whether it starts with how people dress or who they hang out with, peer pressure is virtually everywhere. People may think that they are not affected by peer pressure, but every choice they make is centered on the opinions of others. Peer pressure can get so out of control that people’s lives are conquered by the pressure and lead them to make decisions they ultimately disagree with and even ruin their lives. The novels All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque and It Happened to Nancy…

Peer pressure can be completely harmless, but also terribly deadly. In his Confessions, St. Augustine talks about a number of such situations in which he found himself during his adolescence. These events took place because of his friends and the pressure they put on him. Over the centuries since Augustine’s era, much has changed in our world. Has peer pressure been changed or expelled from our world? No. This “natural phenomenon” among humans was in full use long before Augustine’s time, and unless all can truly stand secure in themselves, it will continue long after this day and age.…

Many kids get peer pressure either because that’s the only choice they have , like in a party they don’t want to feel like a loser or a outcast or because they started hanging out with different people and they happened to do drugs . People are influenced by peers because they want to fit in, be like peers they admire, do what others are doing, or have what others have. Also influence by the way they dress and act, things they're involved in, and the attitudes they show.…

Peer Pressure. We have all at one stage in our lives, experienced it. We all know what it feels like to be pressured by a peer. Peer pressure today impacts on kids of my generation in a huge aspect. Teenagers feel social pressure in numerous ways such as clothing, music and entertainment choices, to unsafe areas such as drugs, alcohol and smoking. During adolescence, kids emphasize their independence and explore their identity. Yet they still crave the approval of their peers and worry about being rejected and excluded. Peer pressure affects the way teenagers choose to live their lives. It affects the way they dress, talk and act. Due to their decisions based upon peer pressure, the teenagers’ outcome can have either a positive or negative effect depending on the person’s social group. However, in my opinion, I believe that peer pressure generally has a more negative effect on teenagers.…

According to the Wikipedia “Peer group” article, “the term peer pressure is often used to describe instances where an individual feels indirectly pressured into changing his/her behavior to match that of his/ her peers”(“Peer group”). With this stated, it is not rare that today’s society instantly associates the term peer pressure in a negative context. Many would say that peer pressure is a negative method that draws and encourages teens to make potentially harmful and dangerous lifestyle choices. However, what many individuals may be unaware of is that they could be overlooking the positive impacts that peer pressure can contribute towards the development of teens. For instance, many people fail to see how the positive side of peer pressure…
