Student Leadership Philosophy
When thinking of an individual that would be perfect for the Student Leadership Team, I think of someone with the following traits; leadership, responsibility, kindness, and school spirit. I believe that I have everyone of these traits and more. I hope to be picked for the Student Leadership Team and want to do as much for the school as I can.
To begin, leadership is a very important quality to have. I believe I am a natural-born leader and love being part of a team. Taking charge is second nature to me, but I can also be a follower when needed. As an older sibling, I am used to leadership positions and make sure everything is fair and everyone’s voices are heard. To sum it up, Leadership is something I excel at and I believe it is a very important trait to have.
In addition, responsibility is a vital characteristic to being an individual fit for Student Leadership Team. Responsibility is very important because if you are not responsible and trustworthy, the team will crumble and won’t work as one. Babysitting gives me a lot of experience being responsible. When babysitting, you must watch the children carefully and make sure they don’t get hurt or in trouble. You are responsible for everything during this time and must make sure things go smoothly. Being on Student Leadership Team is similar to babysitting, in the thought that you are

I feel that I possess all these traits, and more, and would be delighted to be a part of the Leadership Team. I want to do everything I can for the school and I love to be a part of it. I have complete faith that whoever is chosen for the Student Leadership Team will be absoloutley wonderful and I will support them whole-heartedly. O’Leary is already an amazing school, but with an individual like me on the Student Leadership Team, we can be an extra step above the

Furthermore, I would be a leader on campus at Villanova. I am a natural leader and I am always focused on goals. As a leader, I work towards helping people achieve their own goals. When people come together to work towards a common goal, amazing things can happen. A true community can only take place when people are working towards common goals. As a swim coach, I get to lead people and be apart on their journey. I try to instil good values and never let them forget to have some fun. At Villanova, I will be a leader and will encourage…

But I will take the time to highlight my three best traits i have to offer the leadership. First off i work hard, I tend to push myself to my limits and i benefit from it, I have shown this in my running as well as a majority of my schoolwork. This work effick i have will make me a good person for the rookies to look up to and learn from. The second trait that sets me apart is that i have become open-minded to other options. Yes, i am still a little stubborn but during this past year i have been able to listen to other options and even consider them to improve my ideas or even allow my ideas to be incoroerated. The last trait that will set me apart from the other applicants in my section is that i have the experiance they lack. I have been a captain in cross country and track since my sophmore year, I love my section most days but lets be real some days we can be difficult people to reason with, and this is where my experiance will help. My proir leadership experiance has allowed me to learn how to lead effectivally as well as recognize ineffective ways. I also view myself as being a fairly good marcher, and a marcher who is eager to pass my experiance to the next generation of marchers before i graduate. I hope that based on what i have told you about myself you can see that i do belong on your leadership…

If selected as leader, I would use my friendliness and enthusiasm to encourage the Volunteens to build friendships, learn about St. Jude, and develop a commitment for giving back. Because of the relationships I made during the program, I would urge new Volunteens to build the same, long-term friendships. Additionally, as a varsity cheerleader, I’m used to motivating and exciting others to follow my passion; therefore, I would love to share my appreciation for St Jude with the Volunteens, and encourage them to gain as much as possible from the experience through speaking events, asking questions, and patient interactions. My hardworking, friendly and creative personality would promote a fun environment for the volunteers as well as the children…

    1. What does leadership mean to you? I believe that leadership is not just a common list of attributes that can be easily described. Effective Leaders in school will need to have insight and vision to efficiently shape the future and success of that organization. A leader with vision will have a great understanding to the values, ideas, culture, and educational needs that students and the organization and they are most passionate about. They will have clear uninfluenced realistic and attainable goals that they seek to implement compassionately. The inspiration and motivation portrayed by a leader attracts those with equal or even less than equal drive through empowerment. Translating their passions and values into words inspires individuals with energy to conquer any obstacle with the team that they have created, together. This energy created and stoked by the leader ignites a fire within the team to respectfully challenge each other to look within…

My philosophy of leadership for public schools centers around forming and establishing a clear vision of what you want for your campus. Having a clear vision supported by achievable objectives and measurable goals gives all stake holders a sense of purpose and identity. However, it is not enough to establish a vision for the school; there must be systems in place to measure and monitor these goals and objectives that will allow you to make changes as needed and provide support. Vigilance and follow through are essential in prioritizing activities that will contribute to advancing the direction of the school. Most importantly, it is the responsibility of leadership to bring all stakeholders together to share in the quest of achieving the vision.…

I have been fortunate enough to experience the opportunity of being in a leadership position during my working experiences. These opportunities have prepared me proficiently to evaluate my own potential of being a leader. I was always eager to serve a student organization because of its beneficial impact on leadership skills and student experience. This became possible when I was the President of Journalism Society during my undergraduate studies at Forman Christian College. Acting as the chief executive, I made a team of 15 members and with their consent I planned out activities for whole year and prepared budget of society. I always encouraged their creativity and innovation to make them feel that they are being empowered. A cornerstone in my leadership was to instruct my team members what to do, not how to do it. This enabled every individual to devise their own solution and then advising them strengthened their confidence and trust on me. I was dictatorial at times when I have to get my point across my team members which will eventually…

What I have gathered from the description posted online about the “Model the Way” category, is that an exemplary leader sets the example of the behavior that the leader wishes to see in the world. Based on the self-assessment, the report says I scored an 18 out of 30. The average score of the observers gave me for this category was a 25.7. The lowest score being a 23 and the highest being a 27.The first thing I noticed from the report was that I for the majority of the questions, the average for Observers was always higher than the score for the self-assessment. I was reminded of the attitude I had when I took the self-assessment. Authenticity…

Leadership skills are something important that should be developed during someone’s lifetime. They can be created in different ways by participating in different things such as joining a sports team, getting involved in school clubs, and/or participating in extracurricular activities outside of school. Having leadership skills as an individual shows that you are not a follower and that you don’t just “go with the crowd.”…
