MASC Hyannis Essay
Student council has afforded me with so many opportunities and MASC Hyannis will only add to these amazing experiences. These experiences are ones that I will remember for a lifetime and help me grow as a person. As a student council representative, I have done my best to become involved and contribute to the council. In August I participated in StartSTRONG which opened my eyes and eased my tensions on high school. I learned all about what the MHS Student Council has to offer. In September I ran for Member at Large for my class and while I didn't win; I learned quite a few thing from that experience. Even after not being elected Member at Large I got myself involved showing that it was not just about a position to me. I have devoted so much into the council and into the events student council has hosted. In workshops and small groups I have learned a little about how to become a leader and my knowledge would only increase by taking part in the Hyannis conference. I would not only like to enhance my leadership skills but I aspire to help others to reach their full potential. As I'm going to the fall SEMASC conference I will already have experience in campaigning so I would be an asset there. My personality would also be of help because I'm not afraid to look silly or do something out of my comfort zone. I would be able to participate fully and wholeheartedly in the polar plunge and lip sync which many people may have trouble doing. Student council is a passion of mine and to be able to attend this conference and expand my experience would be amazing. I plan to remain an active member of the student council by participating in student council events, helping plan and put together those events, and attending student council meetings. I am planning on signing up to chair future events as I have had such a positive experience chairing the Homecoming Parade.
