Some students are shy by nature, while others have been raised in cultures where assertiveness may be considered rude, competitive or showing off. Many students simply fear looking stupid in front of others whom they perceive to be highly intelligent. Some may find the discussion boring, under their level of knowledge, or a waste of time. And last, some may be depressed.

The three types of students that I observe in my English 50 class are the jocks, the nerds, and the normal people. The reason for this essay is to clear up some concepts regarding the three types of college students.

One group, The Jocks, is the show-off type of people who puts off their homework assignments until the last minute. Once the assignment is completed at the last minute, the assignment is usually scored a low grade. The reason for this is because the jocks are always partying, going out on dates, or having fun with their sorority. The jocks wear anything to include torn jeans/shirts, work down sneakers or boots and cheap, expensive-looking jacket.

The second group, known campus-wide, is the nerds because they are obsessed with books, constantly studying and learning about their interests. The nerds are usually annoying with their obnoxious laughter regarding a really stupid joke. The nerds wear a nice shirt with a bow tie, or a tie and a nicely ironed dress pants and always has a pocket protector to prevent ink stains from their pens. The nerd spends their school night with a tight schedule for recreation, school homework, and learning new things that captures their interests. Computer programming, calculator programming, the biology of their pet frog are some of the common things that interests the nerds.

The third group is the normal group, they are usually typical college students attending their scheduled classes, getting the homework assignments done and turned in on time. The normal group is usually mothers/fathers that have hired baby sitters to watch their

From nerd to jock there are many different types of people at our school. In between those two you have neutral people who make average grades and are somewhat cool to talk to and then as popularity increases you have your normal spoiled rich kids who are in AP classes and typically feel they can do everything they want to do just like the jocks except the fact that even though the jocks are extremely popular you have to understand the fact that they only make only about a C average so they can play football. You see a lot of lower class men such as freshman get the bullying because they are what we call "fresh meat." And its mainly your nerd kids as well as unpopular kids that get bullied cause they try to at cool like the others do. But, everyone denies the people who try compared to the ones that are. So people decide to pick on them because they don’t fit…

“Jock”, “prep”, “loser”, “geek”, “criminal”, “ popular”, are just a few labels of teenagers that are used everyday by outsiders who judge them without looking skin deep. In the matter of stereotyping, some may perceive it as being the base of an identity in the view of society. Stereotyping is categorized and used as a positive view. As opposed to the film The Breakfast Club, that creates a more negative input on stereotyping. Peer groups have really changed over the years in a High school atmosphere.…

For EACH of the sites you access, you will need to list and very briefly discuss four different items you found at each site. You will need to clearly identify EACH web site and the four items found at each site. For example, on the home page of the New Mexico Society of CPAs there is information available for the 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy program. I would spend a few minutes READING the information provided and then I would include a brief paragraph (single spaced & 12 point font) discussing this item as found on the www.nmscpa.org web site. I would then look around the web site for three more items to list and briefly discuss. Thus, there will be a total of 20 items. I would anticipate that EACH item would need a very short paragraph to facilitate your brief description. Note that as a transitioning professional, you should begin to familiarize yourself with these resources and the related content. Accordingly, do NOT simply “cut and paste” but rather take the time to read and understand the content so you can briefly discuss in your own words. Finally, as there are so many items included within each web site, I would anticipate that NO two students will have the same items. In this unusual event, however, each student’s paper will be carefully scrutinized. This assignment will be due in class on Thursday, 31…

According to my short observation in several universities, there are five unique types of today’s students that intersting to be discussed. The first is Bugscreen students. Today is a computerized era. So, there is no bookworm anymore. Students like to read literatures on internet through handphone, mini tab, or notebook better than to read a book in a library. It is more cool and can open two or more windows at once. It is booming as the booming of social media on internet and also as the great number of inexpensive unlimited internet service package in our country. The second is Democrazy students. This student never come late to join on demonstration. They do not care whatever the topic and like to scream aloud like a madman. Their power is also magic, can break auto glasses, pull out the road sign, etc. Nevertheless, they are running away when the police come..^_^. The third is Geesmart (geeky but smart) student. Usually wearing glasses, long sleeve shirt, cloth pants, but wear basketball shoes ^_^ . He/she is always in the front seat, even more fore from the lecturer desk ^_^. Even clever, he/she is geeky.. so easy if asked to do an assignment or giving cheat during exam ^_^. The fourth is Bohay students. They are favorite students of the man lecturers ^_^. Usually have plump body and wear a very tight clothes, consequently it looks “Pletat-pletot” in all parts of their body. Nevertheless, they are still desperated to wear it ^_^. The fifth is Quasi-activist students. Some of their characteristics are like carrying loudspeaker or whistles anywhere ^_^, like to provoke other students (such as invites demo, etc), rarely come to the class, even come, it only when an exams are held.…
