Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.
Salvador Dali
Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct them.
Napoleon Bonaparte
Ambition is the path to success, persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.
William Eardley IV

Different persons have different ambitions in life because they differ not only in tastes and temperament but also in innate tendencies and physical capabilities...

When we were still little children, our fathers always told us that we should have ambition. We don’t really understand it until we are nearly thirty or already in our thirties.
Ambition is just like a flag. Where there is a will, there is a way. If you do not have an ambition, then you could not succeed.
Everyone has his own ambition. Some ambition is great, while some is small. Ambition could also be different because of personal information. We will not have impetus to study hard unless we decide to get good grades. We will not work hard unless we determine to be successful. We take ambition as our aim and usually we call it aspiration. Those people who have no ambition are just like kites without line. They have no direction and do not know what they work for.
So are companies. Kator has had the ambition of being the first ones in the area of commercial catering equipments since it was founded. Firm ambition needs clear mind. Any success is the result of hard working and the process is always full of difficulties. The financial crisis is the greatest challenge for us now. We have no other choice but to overcome it. It is also a good chance for our development. Whether we could change difficulty into chance depends on our ambition, mind, confidence and determination. Crisis is not so terrible as people who do not get ready. Are we ready?

Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans.”
― Peter F. Drucker

Learning for me started to become a scary movie I did not want to watch. I did not want to see myself get killed by failure and doubt that I would never make it out alive. Malcolm X in “Saved” talks about how he had to teach himself how to be educated in prison and how he succeeded at teaching himself to read and write. this took a lot of ambition hard work and commitment to want to succeed. Perri Klass, in her essay “Ambition,“ talks about these same qualities, how ambition is working hard and following your dreams. However, people have to be realistic about some of their dreams and know how much they can handle. These two essays stood out to me because I have always had enough ambition to take it upon myself to learn and to teach myself…

With progress comes success, and with success comes ambition, a force that has been around for a while. Through both good and bad (or evil) ambition our world was born and it’s through ambition that we live our life today. But is it physically and mentally healthy? Yes and No. Ambition can either make or break your day for it can bring utter happiness or utter destruction. It has no size and depending on the person’s aspirations or ego it can bring utter happiness or utter destruction. Impatience is also a result of ambition. But like I said before ambition is not all that bad, on the contrary it can guide one to success, which is another step to acquiring the American Dream. Ambition goes hand in hand with progress, self-reliance, and individualism, some of the tenets for an American Dream. In Willa Cather’s My Antonia, Tiny Soderball showed the most in any of the other characters as being a very ambitious person. She was a Swedish immigrant who was determined to go after any aspirations that she had. Jim Burden regarded her as “Tiny Soderball was to lead the most adventurous life and to achieve the most solid worldly success” (pg 192) and that was because she was so ambitious. In the beginning, sh…

Ambition is the strong desire to achieve a specific goal and is often driven by determination. It can guide people to achieve goals and aspirations, and some are willing to do anything in order to satisfy their ambitious personalities. The French military and political Napoleon Bonaparte successfully defined what ambition truly is by stating, “Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct them.” In other words, ambition is not only aspirations that will help people strive to their successes, but it can also fuel a dangerous desire that people will manipulate and use toward ruthless acts. The desire to achieve has proven to emphasize…

Although there may be some benefits, there are also several risks to ambition. One of the risks of ambition is the decline of good health and social life. One good example would be when Victor Frankenstein put everything aside and only focused on his creation of a living being (Shelly 35 #18). Victor was so focused on making a living thing that he forgot about himself and others. Ambition can lead to good and/or bad things in one’s life but in the end, it doesn’t even matter.…

Ambition can be described as a dangerous quality but also a desirable one because it sets our goals and helps lead us to where we want to be. Macbeth and Mark Zuckerberg are both ambitious in their own ways to achieve their goals. They both have the right mindset, motivation and lack the negativity to not do so. Both Macbeth and Mark went through a lot to reach their goals and they were both ambitious in doing so, but the real question that comes to mind is “what is the true cost of ambition”?…

All three authors’ view that, as Heller put it “…there’s a new, pure drug on the street. It’s called ambition…” (p. 121) is valid in my opinion. As Zinsser states, ambition is necessary, but we tend to let the “dream of ‘getting ahead’ “(p. 132) dim our perception. Sadly, more and more people are drawn into the vicious circle of striving towards a life paved with achievements and praises from other people, forgetting that, by blindly following the paths of accomplishments at work, one can lose things more valuable, such as love, family and emotional fulfillment. Bailyn gives the example of Nancy Wright, a very successful businesswoman, who neglected her family life in order to progress up the rungs and then regretted that decision. In Nancy’s words: “If I had to do it all over again, I think I would do things very differently…” (p. 167). Just like Nancy, many people tend to lose themselves in their work, only to get disappointed later on and realize the dangers of life driven by too much ambition. They sometimes lose chances for happy family or love life, for friendships, calmness, or just the opportunity to be better and more fulfilled persons.…
