ACCOUNTING 301 – INTEGRATIVE WRITING ASSIGNMENT #1 (20 Points)
You will need to access the following five web sites:
1. www.fasb.org
2. www.aicpa.org
3. www.nmscpa.org
4. www.sec.gov
5. www.irs.gov
For EACH of the sites you access, you will need to list and very briefly discuss four different items you found at each site. You will need to clearly identify EACH web site and the four items found at each site. For example, on the home page of the New Mexico Society of CPAs there is information available for the 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy program. I would spend a few minutes READING the information provided and then I would include a brief paragraph (single spaced & 12 point font) discussing this item as found on the www.nmscpa.org web site. I would then look around the web site for three more items to list and briefly discuss. Thus, there will be a total of 20 items. I would anticipate that EACH item would need a very short paragraph to facilitate your brief description. Note that as a transitioning professional, you should begin to familiarize yourself with these resources and the related content. Accordingly, do NOT simply “cut and paste” but rather take the time to read and understand the content so you can briefly discuss in your own words. Finally, as there are so many items included within each web site, I would anticipate that NO two students will have the same items.
