1. Description of type of observation example (where, date, timing, how selected, method, if observation is focused, then on what is it focused? Etc.) Please note that the video/audio recorded session involving was conducted on or about early January 2017. This occurred during residency of cohort 10 at the University of Charleston located in West Virginia. The recordings were then distributed to members of DEL cohort Web-11.01/Web-11.02. What kind of future follow-up research method would you like to do based on this observation?
The practice of mixed-methodology research perhaps infused with phenomenology, and ethnographic research would be fascinating. Further, the focus on quantitative research is also fascinating by itself.
What kind of structured observation might be appropriate?
The focus of a structured observation is much more interesting in the viewing process as opposed to a non-structured event. The structured observation typically makes use of detailed coding frames that are prepared before the observation takes place. This observation format usually concentrates on specific behaviors. Guest et. al., (2013) intimated that they would like to know and partake in a participant observation as opposed to being under the bed. This type of research application will surely enhance my efforts when moving forward with developing my DEL dissertation qualifications.
