“Health is not merely the absence of disease but a state of complete physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being”. In the light of this definition, evaluate the state of your own health?

Being in good health means more than just being free from illness or disease. While being physically healthy is the first step to good health, good mental health and social well-being are also necessary. In fact, health is defined by the World Health Organization as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. This means that to be in good health, we must take care of our bodies, our minds and emotions, and we must pay attention to our life-styles and surroundings. This definition of health recognizes that every person is complex and must be valued for all of their dimensions, not just for their physical ones. Physical health can be defined as an essential part of overall health of an individual, which includes everything from physical fitness to overall wellbeing. When most people think about health they conjure up images that are related to physical health. Physical health is anything that has to do with our bodies as a physical entity. Accordingly, physical health is a way to maintain our health and fitness through exercise or life-style activities such as walking, jogging, running, bicycling, doing yoga and feeding our body with the right type of food and drinks. There are so many ways to maintain and retain physical health which also improves our overall health and thus improves our immunity system and reduces the chance of illness, disease and injury. Also it often helps in faster and better recovery when you have been unwell. Today a large number of health problems are caused by our unhealthy lifestyle and misuse of technology.
