1) According to the text what is the preventative health concept?
Preventative health concept is that people can reduce many factors that threaten personal wellness. Children and adults are able to choose behaviors that will improve their life and lessen their risk for disease.
2) What is BBTD?
a) BBTD is baby bottle tooth decay
b)How can it be prevented and what can parents do to promote oral health in their children?
Do not put children to bed with a bottle, do not get children sugaery drinks to carry around, teach children how to brush their teeth
3) a) Why and how do teachers prefer daily health checks?
Teachers perform daily health checks for the safety of all the children and class and for the safety of other teachers and to become familiar with each child. They do this mostly by observing, look for weight change facial expression, red nose, coughing, red or watery eyes, and draining of the ears.
b) What kind of conditions are teachers watching for?
Teachers are looking for pallor, lethargy, excessive fatigue.
c) How can teachers use health checks to teach children about good health practices?
4) a) How often should vision and hearing be checked in young children?
Vision and hearing should be checked every 6 months
b) What disorders can cause temporary/permanent hearing loss?

Head injuries, allergies, measles, mumps, exposure to excessive or prolonged noise, down syndrome, frequent colds, and ear infections.
c) What vision disorders can be fond in young children?
Amblyopia, strabismus, myopia, hyperopia
